i\'ve heard from a reliable source (PT phish) that last night was the best show of the tour, the worst show of the tour, and an average show for this tour. is this all true?
yes... well, no... it depends.
last night was weird when they started in on sample in a jar all I could think was "worst show since 98 new haven", but then they did pull out some really good stuff to make amends by the end. however, a lot of it was repeats for me and I thought the other versions were better so overall I was left with an average or lesser review. Even the tweezer didn\'t go out that far, they felt like they were just warming up after taking a few days off.
Going to Phish and comparing them to The Breakfast is futile in the search for a fun show.
Duh!
anyone Got An Extra for tonight??? Buddy Needs One! Thx
if anybody is going to MSG tonight/tomorrow and attempting to get a poster, any chance you can try to pick me up one....will pay for it and more...thanks
anybody?? I also heard they were readily available on the top floor as not many people go up there, so it should be easiest to grab them there instead of the lower merch stands
I thought last night\'s show was very solid for opening night at the Garden. Not a throw away show by any means. As Peaches and PR mentioned Peaches was played, but not nailed...for me it was really more about the novelty than the execution. That being said, after hearing the B\'fast and Phish play it in the same week, I think the B\'fast version was better.
While \'09 has been a fun Phish year, there aren\'t many shows/segments that I really feel the need to listen back to, but that might be changing shortly. After last night I would really like to hear the Ocelot, Wolfman\'s, and Light one more time. Really felt they killed these versions. Light was especially out there...thought it was going into Timer Ho! for a while before the really took the jam for a walk.
I\'m excited for the next two days
upon futher review...the wolfman\'s was more of a standard rockish version that I remember. Still a very good Ocelot by Ocelot standards and Light was good as I remember it. Not quite Seven Below > Ghost, but definitely moving in the right direction.

Yeah, I don\'t think PHish is quite back to being (or maybe will never again be) a band worth traveling for. Setlists and versions of songs seem more standard than ground-breaking. If we see more shows with Seven Below > Ghost jamming then I might change my mind, but as of now 2 or 3 shows every few months is fine. MSG run is perfect for me.

I haven\'t listened to the 45 minute seg yet, but I\'ve heard that it was the best jamming of the tour, the worst, and pretty average.

That bad? It looks like a monster on paper - AC/DC, Peaches, Divided, Slave, Tweezer, Harry, Suzy, Antelope? I guess Tweezer keeps following you around...

I don\'t think it\'s anything that will stand the test of time in Phishtory, but a definite departure from some of the standard run-throughs they\'ve been doing this year. It gets pretty far out there without getting boring or stale. Just some good improv that has been lacking in \'09.
