Holy cows was Albany something else.... it\'s hard to say things like best Phish shows ever....but for 2009, in this moment, at the dawn of the golden age (party time!) it was absolutely perfect.

Phish is on a mission to spiritually save the world. Trey\'s going to be levitating off the stage any minute!

Had a blast Friday Night. Was nice to see some of you folks afterwards

As these kind of nights turn out. I just so happened to be seated next to 2 guys from my fraternity that I haven\'t seen in over 10 years. Was a really great time. My friend from Philly made it up and we haven\'t all been together for a show in a really really long time.

I barely remember the show but that is what these types of nights are all about.

These shows sound great... My questions is, does anyone feel like the shows are getting shorter?  Only 4 shows so far have made it past the 3 hour mark...  I could be wrong, but I always remember the shows avg. 3 hours across the board... Either way, the music is good, so no complaints from my end...

11/19 - 3 hours, 0 minutes, 51 seconds
11/20 - 3 hours, 7 minutes, 43 seconds
11/21 - 2 hours, 44 minutes, 21 seconds
11/22 - 2 hours, 55 minutes, 55 seconds
11/24 - 2 hours, 56 minutes, 41 seconds
11/25 - 2 hours, 53 minutes, 6 seconds
11/27 - 2 hours, 44 minutes, 45 seconds
11/28 - 3 hours, 7 minutes, 7 seconds
11/29 - 3 hours, 3 minutes, 23 seconds

(yes, I\'m bored at work)

But we\'re talking about a variation of mere minutes... it can be explained by them taking a little extra time in between songs.

I wasn\'t talking about this tour only, more on historical numbers verses more recent shows...

does ZZYZX keep show length stats?

That\'s one stat that I don\'t think they keep... I can do some stats on my own...

I\'m impressed by the chart!  Nice!

This data does not show a trend one way or the other.  Even if it did, the sample size is too small to mean much.  You should chart all the shows from this year, then you would have a meaningful sample, especially of 2009 obviously.  I think you\'ll find that there\'s no trend of show lengths getting longer or shorter.  I think you\'ll find the show length data to be normally distributed about a mean of approximately 2:56.  Actual show length from night to night is random, within 3 standard deviations of the mean, plus or minus.

I agree on all points.  I did a quick intraweb scan to see if I could find easily accessible show length data...but I was unsuccessful.  I would have loved to do a 20 year graph

i actually find the chart to be quite misleading. a y-axis that goes from 9000 to 11500 seconds? a quick glance might lead one to believe that the longest show was more than twice as long as the shortest. a control chart would be much more useful. if i still had MINITAB, i\'d be all over it, but i don\'t...so i\'m not.

Your quick glance analysis is pointless jibberish.  But I suspect jibberish was the intent.
