Yeah just a weak post all around Yodiddly. You think, you think, they would have to... huh? Lameness.
Don\'t forget about Crosseyed ellis. I personally love the Heads set, and have probably listened to it more than the other three Halloween sets.
I also recall Phish nailing Dark Side of the Moon straight through only 2 days after their
sick Velvet cover. Pretty sure they just played it without "HUGE" theatrics and
**** pwn3d it with their goddamn fingertips.
if anything the extra challenge of doing the wall would make them want to do it even more i suspect. would be some freaky
**** on halloween too.
Yeah it\'d be
**** nuts. Anything Floyd would be great, but at this point, I don\'t give a
**** what they pick. It\'s gonna be nasty no matter what.
Although there is not chance they will pick this album I would absolutely love to see them do goodbye yellow brick road. I was going to put funeral for a friend/love lies bleeding in the what the breakfast should cover thread. Seeing phish or the breakfast attack this song would be absolutely epic. Personally I would rather here tim tear up that guitar solo its so tasty.
I also feel like goodbye yellow brick road would give a page a chance to twinkle fingers all up in the spotlight. Which would make my butt cheeks tingle.
something about this comment really bothered me on so many levels. first how could you saw the latter two halloween shows sucked?? The Heads one was ok, but i mean the velvet underground performance was so **** good, theres a reason they still play those songs and basically nothing from the other three. To me, that was their best halloween performance.
Didn\'t mean for the post to "bother" you, but I feel the way I feel. I don\'t like the Talking Heads in the least bit, so that cover album was down the drain for me when it started. I actually like Velvet Underground, but I have the same problem with it as I did with the THs; in my opinion, when you\'re covering the album, they should play it like it is on the album, like they did with The White Album and Quadrophenia. For these two shows, they jammed out all the songs because they knew that both of those albums were only 40 minutes long and that would be 20+ minutes too short for a set and not have people complaigning.
Secondly, since when has phish been worried about giant undertakings?? They are obviously gonna do something special so to think that the wall is too much for them is nuts. OH, and does it HAVE to be the original wall??? **** NO, if they do it, they\'ll do it their way just like they always have. there are no rules that they must abide by.
I\'m only expressing my feelings. I\'m only going to get to hear the audio since I\'m not going, but I do think that having seen video of both Pink Floyd\'s The Wall and Roger Water\'s The Wall performances, there would be something lacking if they didn\'t reconstruct the wall... You can get away with not doing what the original band did on 99.9% of all other bands/albums/tours, but The Wall was so unique that "to me", there\'d be something lacking if they didn\'t follow suit...
to each their own. the TH and VU sets are the best of the bunch. Plus both bands tend to jam out live as well, so it makes sense for Phish to go places w/ it instead of just playing it note for note.

Yeah, jump on the band wagon and trash my posts... I may be lame in your eyes, but I speak the way I feel...
I\'m glad you enjoyed the Talking Heads set, it bored me to death...
Phish did Dark Side justice, but take another listen, there were flubs and things that could have been ironed out if that had been the album they covered for Halloween.... There was no huge theatrics, but there was not large stage show for the Dark Side Tour as there was with The Wall... When PF performed The Wall, that is the only music they played. When PF played Dark Side, it was always in the middle of songs from either Meddle, Obscured By Clouds or Wish You Were Here... And it may not be the truth, but I always felt that Phish played Dark Side two days after Halloween because the Velvet set didn\'t meet their expectations...
and ellis, you make 0 sense when you say they play the VU songs and nothing else. They play Crosseyed, Drowned and While My Guitar Gently Weeps on the reg.
more songs than the others, 1 song from each of those albums, whereas 4 songs outta 10 have made multiple appearances.

Interesting request.
I think most of this album sucks though. IMHO Elton John\'s best album by far is Tumbleweed Connection (1970):
Side one
1. "Ballad of a Well-Known Gun" ? 4:59
2. "Come Down in Time" ? 3:25
3. "Country Comfort" ? 5:06
4. "Son of Your Father" ? 3:48
5. "My Father\'s Gun" ? 6:20
Side two
1. "Where to Now St. Peter?" ? 4:11
2. "Love Song" (Lesley Duncan) ? 3:41
3. "Amoreena" ? 5:00
4. "Talking Old Soldiers" ? 4:06
5. "Burn Down the Mission" ? 6:22
Plus Phish has played Amoreena before so this would seem more likely.
But yeah this album is as good as Sgt. Pepper\'s Lonely Hearts Club Band.... if y\'ain\'t herd!
I haven\'t heard, but I highly doubt that it\'s as good as Sgt. Peppers... There are few albums that can\'t get to that level...
Believe me tuna I have a interestingly weird elton obsession and I would have to agree that tumbleweed connection is his best / my favorite. But Funeral for a friend/love lies bleeding is undeniably my favorite Elton Song along with nicky cheescakes papa.
If you have not heard yoda you should. And the reason it is referenced along with sgt. peppers is because of its eclectic nature. Ballad of a well known gun and son of your father are pure heat where as my fathers gun and burn down the mission are some of eltons best ballads in my opinion. Front to back its the

I\'ll see if my wife has it... I listened to the snipets of it on bn.com... It\'s not bad, but I have the same problem with a lot of Elton songs as I do with Billy Joel stuff; I get tired really quick of the man and his piano ballads... For me, there\'s not one low point that makes me want to skip to the next song on Sgt. Peppers...
Fair enough but the ballads on this album are certainly more triumphant than your typical piano ballad much more complex.
Everyone needs a good cry now and then yoda everyone.
