Whatever happened to NYE at MSG?
I don\'t think it was ever thought to be. I\'ve heard Miami since like Hampton in March. Sometimes you can lost in the rumors and misdirections.
My browser won\'t show the list, but my narrowed down guesses are:
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Queen - A Night At The Opera
Neil Young - Tonight\'s the Night
Fleetwood Mac - Rumors
Allman Brothers - eat a Peach
Boston
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
Blind Faith
Yes - the Yes Album
Kiss - Alive II
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks
Beatles - Rubber soul
Rush - Moving Pictures
Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
Led Zeppelin IV
the Who - Who\'s Next
Zappa - Apostrophe
My preferences are bolded, but all the rumors that I\'ve heard lean towards Boston...
I\'m taking Bruce out of the equation for a couple of reasons...
1. Bruce is doing shows now that are playing complete albums, which include Born To Run, Darkness and Born In The USA.
2. I\'m not sure who in the band could really handle the vocals. That album had a low, deep, growling feel to it and really none of the other cover albums they\'ve done have been in that range vocally.
3. They just sat in with Bruce at Bonnaroo; that would fit all too nicely.
At this point, I\'d like to see them play Pet Sounds, but I\'m thinking that wouldn\'t set the right mood for Phans...
there\'s dates missing from that list.

I\'m not talking about it in the "rumor" sense, but whatever happened to it being in MSG generally speaking... I guess that I don\'t get the Miami thing... With a large portion of your audience in the Northeast, it would make sense to have NYE in Boston or NYC after having a large festival out on the West Coast... This is just cannon fodder, no real motivation behind it...
by the time the year is up, they\'d have played something like 20 shows in the northeast. we get plenty of phish.

Indio is the result of the disastrous Coventry and the horrid traffic at festivals. And who can blame the band for wanting to be in warm weather in December? Part of Phish\'s experience is traveling to see the band.

Assuming my definition of the NE is the same as yours (Maine, NH, Vermont, Mass, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA), there were 10 shows in the NE during the summer and there will be 7 on this tour. I\'ve got nothing against the other states, I\'m just wondering why neither of the two big shows are in the NE...

Traveling to NYC or Boston is enough for me, I don\'t need to go down to Miami or CA to have an experience...
seems like if there is going to be mid november/thanksgiving dates they would have be announcing them very soon
I mean the breakfast already has their dates up!
there\'s dates missing from that list.
possibly, but not likely.
any word yet on ticket sales for any of these shows?
just a couple posts up....
It looks like the following schedule has been put in place....this MAY change, but not likely:
Announce: 10/16
Onsale : 10/23
Pre-Sale Lottery in between

I can travel to Boston or NYC anytime. Have done it countless times before. Going to Miami is a special treat. For me, I would rather see the band in all the places I haven\'t seen them or seen them once/twice. Different strokes for different folks. I also have no family responsibilities.
Going to Miami makes NYE a little more special.
jill and i were supposedto go to miami for nye 03. we went to toads place for my first bfast show instead.
had to eat the plane tix, though...
With 84 albums remaining at the time of this post, I\'ll go with Led Zep IV.
And if they really want to kill it, they\'ll trot out Robert Plant for vocals on Stairway.
