The fact that the album version cuts off the song right before it starts to kick ass devalues its serness. And that was probably the worst music video ever so that devalued its serness.
I know when I wanna listen to a sick Disease I play the album version.... haha right
And there\'s your different between a song live and in the studio.
And there\'s the most obvious commentary on a post ever made. What did you think I was talking about?

Can you taste the fear? For the devil\'s drawin near.....
^^ haha....yes the fear of flying to cali...i hate airplanes...
You all need to listen to the album for a 14th time. I honestly think it is great. I\'m also in the minority that I happen to listen to studio Phish more than the normal Phish fan, and Joy has been just like a bunch of the others (from Phish and other bands), it just takes time to truly enjoy what has been captured on disc. That said, my Joy highlights are Joy and Twenty Years Later, with Sugar Shack slowly creeping up the ladder. Then again, I am also a big fan of Let Me Lie, so flame away if you must. I for one, am just happy that Phish is back, healthy, having fun, and putting out NEW music. Very much anticipating the Party Time "album" when it gets out.
I will see you all in Cali.
(note: antbach will not be in Cali unless he fails to obtain this new job to which he hopefully will be interviewing next week.)
3 cheers for antbach, the best post on this thread in some time.

oh i love you greg ellis. festival 8 for me right now is about 60%. im also thinkin pretty lights and off course bfast. do they make 3 sided coins anywhere ?
I completely understand where you\'re coming from tuna. It has been been my mission, since March, to not be over critical and enjoy what the band has to offer, as long as they are not **** things up. There is a serious effort going into their music right now, and that is the foundation of greatness. They are old men now, and probably don\'t have the fire in their bellies the way they did in 94 when things really took off. But their approach to creativity and musicality is better than its been in over ten years, and the five shows i went to were all fantastic(minus bill kreutzman.) Even though they aren\'t the progressive monsters they once were, they are writing great songs ala the Beatles and the Who, and honestly to me it doesn\'t get much better. I love the craziness, but when it comes to Phish, there\'s so much more. Listen to bands like Yes and King Krimson that write similarly progressive songs and it doesn\'t hold a candle, you know why? Cause Phish has songs like If I Could, Character Zero, Theme, all that stuff that is simple, but is also so sick. Those are three completely different examples but all equally awesome. Diversity in greatness. THAT IS PHISH
Read this last post gabo, you know im the man with a crazy brain that cant say anything short, not to mention ive drank 2 bottles of wine in the last few hours and feel fantastic
The first time I read this post I laughed a little at the whole "if i could, character zero, theme" part. After giving it a second drunken read I understand and completely agree. Well said.
Also I have been on team sugar shack all the way since page 231.:bansplit::wtfban::bansplit:
Don\'t know if I would compare the song writing of Phish to that of The Beatles. The songs are good, but they\'re not The Beatles...
