I\'m glad glad glad that Phish is doing a festival. Great for fans. But my personal interest level in going is just about 0. Bonnaroo was enough for me for one year, and I\'m already over my vacation time and praying work doesn\'t notice, so attending isn\'t even an option anyhow.
But even if I had time off, I\'d sit it out. They\'re sounding really good right now and I\'ve loved the
**** out of all 8 shows I\'ve trekked to this year. If you\'ve read my articles from Hampton, Fenway, and Bonnaroo you know that I\'ve had nothing but positive things to say about the shows as a whole. But to me they\'re not good enough yet to justify enduring the cost and hassle that comes with a Phish festival. I\'m not suggesting anyone shouldn\'t go, it\'s a personal choice for everyone and you\'re completely right if you think it\'s worth it. For me it\'s not.
One thing I would hope for the fest is that they set up some other stages and invite other bands. After watching 10-14 hours of music per day at Bonnaroo, the subject came up of, "What the
**** did we used to do all day at Phish festivals?" I mean really, I can\'t remember one thing I did at any Phish festival besides see Phish. I\'m fine with them hogging the spotlight from 6-11 every night to play 3 sets, that\'s the whole point, but from 12-6 and then again from 11pm-4am they should be offering something more.
Have fun! I hope it\'s somewhere good!
