No, it\'s definitely a branch of the story but not in Gamehendge itself.

However, I just realized that I scrolled passed Possum without giving it its proper Gamehendge status. So, GH = dunzo for tonight.

They\'re gonna bust out a ser AC/DC for sure tonight. Maze should tear the roof off the sucker, and The Curtain With will be a proper close to the weekend.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

Regarding Gamehendge, it should be noted that Possum was only played on one of the five occassions in which it was performed live and that was the first time.

And, I will stick with Wilson.

Question: is anyone else having trouble explaining to friends just why this is the most important weekend in music in years? Just tried to tell a mate on the phone why even The Breakfast and my beloved Jefferson Airplane/Starship have been shunted to the back of the playlist in favour of recordings from last night and Friday - and no doubt some albums too over the next few days

For me, Phish were the best band of the 90s by a country mile. Granted I only discovered them via a rerun of a 1996 WDR show, so I missed the chance to see them live in the UK, but they were the first band I ever went to the trouble and considerable expense ($30 an album back in \'97 - OUCH!) to get their stuff from HMV on import. Once I discovered phish.com, then it was t-shirts and more dsics to the point that until I discovered pb, sci and the biscuits, phish were just about the only non-60s band to which I listened on a regular basis.

Listening to the recordings from the weekend is making me remember why I fell in love with their music the first time. What it must be like for those lucky few experiencing the whole weekend, I can only imagine.

Now, if they would just bust out Silent In The Morning and AC/DC Bag tonight, the weekend will be complete.

absolutely. jam band society in general is something you get or don\'t. I played some phish for one of the girls from work a few weeks ago and got the dreaded "When are they going to start singing?" question after less than a minute.

obviously, she didn\'t get it.

Question: is anyone else having trouble explaining to friends just why this is the most important weekend in music in years?

Yes.

Friday night - Erin after listening to me whine about not being in Virginia: "Ant, c\'mon, are they really that good?" Ant: "Absolutely. You have no idea. But the kicker is you either get it, love it and have a passion for it, or you don\'t. There is no inbetween." Let\'s just say her expression was very odd and I think after knowing her for about 3 years she now labels me as \'odd\'.
"Okay everybody, for my next miracle, I\'m going to turn water into funk!"
