Thanks, and I must pay homage for the name to the best writer/director, DAVID LYNCH. (Twin peaks, Lost Highway, Fire Walk with Me, Blue Velvet, Elephant Man,...)

I usually only say that when it\'s a studio version. I often hear off-key vocals in the live shows, but I know it can be difficult to stay on in a stadium- esp. during a fan-cheering explosion.

ive always likes phishs vocals.  although far from the stong suit of the band, they do some really cool harmonies, plus their lyrics are wacky and awesome

Their harmonies are fantastic. They definitely maxed out their potential in the studio which is a huge, underrated strong suit of their music. Agreed on lyrics. I remember reading an interview with Tom Marshall where the interviewer was trying to grill him on lines like "I\'m bought for the price of a flagon of rice" calling it silly and meaningless, and he (TM) shot right back with the idea that it tells an original story and makes for great RHYTHMIC lyrical content. Again, underappreciated when analyzing Phish\'s greatness.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

i know that the "clod" section of fluffhead was written solely with rythmic lyrics in mind.  "tipsy fuddled boozy groggy elevated prime did edit her..."

Don\'t forget Trey\'s arrangements either.  Just awesome use of everyone\'s voices doing different things at the same time.  Quick list off the top of my head of Phish songs that are totally made by the vocal arrangmenet:

Theme From The Bottom
Roggae
Limb By Limb
Bouncing Around the Room
Glide
Billy Breathes
I Didn\'t Know
Haley\'s Comet

Other songs that have parts more significant than the vocal arrangement but still have ridiculous vocal arrangements:

Split Open and Melt
Foam
Lizards
Famous Mockingbird
Moma Dance
The Curtain
