just out of curiosity, how many two-set concert dvds do you own? because i\'ve never seen more than one 1.5 hourish long set per disc.
Phish - Vegas, Live In Brooklyn and Walnut Creek are all 2-set shows on one disc. If they\'re able to put The Godfather and other 3+ hour movies on a single disc, why doesn\'t this translate to music video.
Don\'t get me wrong, I think that it\'s great that they\'re putting this out, but $79 for essentially two shows is crazy. Based on my earlier post about putting 2 sets on a single disc, I did the math (using song lenths from
http://www.phishows.com) and it does work based on 3 hours per disc.
Disc 1Day 1/Set 1 - 1 hour, 20 minutes, 40 seconds
Day 1/Set 2 - 1 hour, 32 minutes, 31 seconds
Total disc time - 2 hours, 53 minutes, 11 seconds
Disc 2Day 1/Set 3 - 1 hour, 41 seconds
Day 2/Set 1 - 1 hour, 18 minutes, 53 seconds
Total disc time - 2 hours, 19 minutes, 34 seconds
Disc 3Day 2/Set 2 - 1 hour, 16 minutes, 38 seconds
Day 2/Set 3 - 1 hour, 7 minutes, 13 seconds
Total disc time - 2 hours, 23 minutes, 13 seconds
Disc 4Extras (This obviously fits on one disc because that\'s what Phish has it on)
Again, as previously stated, I think it\'s great that they\'re putting this out, but I also think that to put this on 7 discs is kind of taking advantage of the average fan. A 4-Disc Box Set would be much more reasonably priced than a 7-Disc Box Set.
That\'s just my 2-cents.
