I like Piece (obviously for the Kansas connection), but I\'m definitely rooting for Detroit. Let\'s not give Boston fans another sport to brag about.
But let\'s also not give Boston fans a huge
**** let down....
No offense, but I can give two
**** about a let down for Boston fans. You won the world series this past year; you had a football team that almost had a perfect season, you had a basketball team that lost less than 20 games and your hockey team made the playoffs. If you think that if the celtics don\'t win, it\'s a let down, I don\'t know what to tell you.
I personally can\'t stand pro basketball, but I enjoy watching boston lose.
i hope the celtics give detroit a
**** beatdown, and whoever they may meet in the finals so us boston fans can rub it all over yoda\'s face. i\'m only half serious, b/c i know it\'ll be a tough matchup between the celts and detroit. if the celtics lost last night at home, they don\'t deserve to go to this next round, but b/c they did, it gives us boston fans something more to look forward to and root for the celts all the way. win or lose, boston will always be a great sports town, so the bragging ain\'t gonna end mr. new jersey.
I don\'t remember the bragging being too much when the sox sucked and the celtics and bruins were nowhere on the map; basically early 90\'s until 2004.
Let\'s not talk about NJ - we gave the world the music of Springsteen, Sinatra, Paul Simon, Bon Jovi, George Clinton, Danzig, Thr Four Seasons, Whitney Houston, Ice T, Dion Warwick, Bernie Worrell, Trey Anastasio and Page McConnell. You guys can manufacturer sports, but we provide the music!
Game 7 was, indeed, amazing. (Too bad it was only the 3rd best event I\'ve seen in that building...not as good as Phish 12/30/96 and 12/31/96 haha.) Place was nuts of course...only saw one Cavs fan the whole time. Highlight was just seeing Lebron James in person. I know Pierce was awesome, but I see him every time I go to a game. The Lebron 45 in a game 7 loss in Boston was eerily similar to Jordan\'s famous 63 in a playoff loss to Boston. When you watch your team win a game 7 and the most memorable thing was a guy on the other team, you know he\'s nasty. I guess my favorite part, though less memorable, was Eddie House galvanizing the entire building twice. House has been my boy all year. I was pissed when he was benched for no reason for the first 12 games of the playoffs, but in game 7 he got the whole building screaming his name twice. That was my favorite part, but ask me 10 years from now and I\'ll just remember Lebron. Big ups to our very own mcajam for overcoming a softball injury and efficiently hobbling around the garden. Kid couldn\'t even walk when we left his house. But then when we got in and were quickly circling around half the arena to our seats while the anthem was going, he is miraculously healed and starts booking it like Michael Johnson. Definitely a WillisReedesque performance of mind over body!
I wish for all of you poor sports fans stuck in other cities or rooting for other teams that you could be a Boston fan. It really is a blast. I will welcome you with open arms, even the New York fans. It\'s already been 5 championships and a perfect season in the books and there\'s a lot more to come in the next 3-5 years. Just wow. In the last seven months (all in just seven months!) I\'ve gotten to attend all 3 major teams playing winner-take-all games at home and watched my teams go 3-0 in those games (Game 7 2007 ALCS at Fenway Park, Game 7 Cavs-Celts at Garden, and 2008 AFC Championship at Gillette, not to mention 2004 AFC championship as well) and also got to the greatest Super Bowl ever. I guess this stuff has kind of replaced Phish for me in a way. Between this stuff and The Breakfast being amazing I couldn\'t ask for anything more from my fandom life. I\'m in love with life.
Celtics in 4 over Pistons.
Good times.
Celtics in 4 over Pistons.
rotfl 2 much really 2 much.
oh yeah interesting tidbit. The last 2 times the celtics and Pistons played each other in the Conference Finals the winner went on to lose to the Lakers.

No offense Wolf, but nothing could make me become a boston fan. I\'ve been lucky enough to see the Yanks win 4 World Series and the Devils win 3 Stanly Cups. If the Jets could muster up a Super Bowl, I could go to the grave happy.
And not to be nit-picky, but the patriots didn\'t have a perfect season as you alluded to above; they had a perfect regular season, in order to have a perfect season, they would have had to win the Super Bowl.
HOLY
****!!!! That was an incredible comeback by the Lakers. The Spurs have got to be pissed.
They had this one sewed up tight and now they\'ll be lying awake all night long.
Damn. 7 to go.
epic comeback.
lakers down 20 in the 3rd. kobe 1/3 with 2 points in the first half, and the lakers win by 4.
are.you.ser?!
Games like those are the reasons why I watch sports and cheer for my beloved teams. One of the best athletic events, and obviously one of the greatest comebacks, I\'ve ever had the good fortune to witness.
What a second half for the MVP.
Go Lakers!

Wow, thank you soooo much New Jersey for Bon Jovi!
Wow! What a game! Go Lakers!
