The proposed Constitutional amendment that would have outlawed flag burning was defeated yesterday.
I for one am glad it was defeated. This subject is a conservative ploy to incite the masses during election years. Has been for awhile.
Thankfully there are just enough level heads left in the Senate.
I was under the impression that burning the flag was illegal. I know there is a proper way to dispose of an American Flag when it gets torn, old or touches the ground. I never knew I could legally burn a flag in protest. Not that I would but I guess I could.
my question~ if you come across a burning flag and want to put it out but have no water, can you pee on it, for its safety???
... thank god. politicians need to concentrate on problems, not trying to force their values on the public.
If people really want to burn something in protest, maybe they should give this a try.

Makes a stronger statemnet, I think.
