Italian progressive rock/soundtrack (which means repetitive themes, short variations of said themes). Heavy synth, percussion, guitar and weird guttural sounds. Almost every soundtrack they recorded were for horror movies, including Dawm of the Dead.

hence the name Goblin.
cool.
are they real Goblins or just play them?
Guinea Goblins... Meatballs for hands. Garlic cloves for noses. Ya know, Guinea Goblins.

that sounds kinda tasty.
Goblin have a lot of albums or just a few? I\'m at work so my internet access is very limited.
A gazillion. A lot of them are hit or miss. I would recommend: "Roller" (non-soundtrack), "Profound Rosso", or any of the 3 volumes "Soundtracks" series(Soundtracks Vol. II 1975 - 1980) is my personal fav.
They\'re mainly a "soundtrack" band for Dario Argento (one of the best horror film directors). I guess that you can call them prog if you had to put them into a category and use the album Roller as an example. Most of their music can be found on the three collection albums, but you can find some movie soundtracks for Suspiria, Tenebre, Zombi (Dawn of the Dead) and so forth. Their stuff is not that easy to find in stores and it\'s expensive when you do.
Right now I\'m listening to Ozric Tentacles - The Pogmasters Ball
Right now I\'m listening to "Office Sounds" by Boredom. It\'s an eclectic album of ethereal soundscapes. I put it on this morning and I\'ve kept it on all day baby!!
Highlights so far:
Morning Joe
Cigarette Jam
Personal eMail
There was a sick Lunch Jam in there.
I just finished with a: You Say It\'s Your Birthday Cake> Cigarette Reprise
Now it\'s about to finish up with "Sneakin\' Billy Out The Back Ally"

Truth. He really is a comedic genius.

Pentangle: Cruel Sister
1970
Acid-Folk-Rock
its good cause of the B side which is one song entitled Jack Orion. about halfway through the song the fretless bass player has a solo and then lays down a tight bass line for the rest of the band to do some noodling and solos over. very cool stuff that i just happened to come across in the record store. not sure if it has been remastered to cd

very SER record collection WTF has.
I have that Pentagle album on vinyl, or at least I used to. Not sure if I sold it in the great "pay my credit card debt" sale of 2005. Nice to see some distinguished tastes on this board.

When post metal turns progressive rock. Definetly in the top 5 releases for 2006. Like a journey into the self prescribed pain of humanity, with tinges of salvation. Definetly not for the light hearted, or fans of the Grateful Dead.
captain beefheart "shiny beast (bat chain puller)" is awesome. my favorite beefheart album i have listened to thus far. not as experimental as some, bluesy and grungy, a couple nice instrumentals and some spoken wordtunes. he is an incredible poet, albiet creepy.

Counting crows August and everything after.
Because I forgot how good this album was. I hope it will forgive me.
