The new Sea and Cake album resembles Steely Dan more than their past electro, indie pop efforts. Each track seems rounded, refined, yet effortless in execution. Definetly their jazziest release to date.
some jazz is still pretty cool when I am in the mood.
but mostly i\'ve been listening to all the ambient stations on i-tunes radio. Its very relaxing vibrational music.
Jam bands to me at this point are nothing more than nostalgia. And that includes dead, phish, rezi and the breakfast.
Phish- The Headphones Jam
Not too shabby. Sure Trey\'s just playing muted notes combined with generic mixolydian scale derivirations, but all in all it\'s nice to hear them let it all go without the pressure of the toxic 03 Phish audience.
-Blu Sirkut
-Kraak & Smaak
-A bossa Eletrica
-Mark Farina\'s Mushroom Jazz series

Reminiscent of Steely? I should check it out.
Yeah Al, I was very surprised. They use similar chord changes and high production.
How was the Headhunters?
I need to send you Paul Jackson\'s solo album from 1978!! I just got it today... Some out of this world fusion/funk. Features Herbie on every track too!

Amon Duul\'s swan song is probably the king of psychedelic rock. Personally I enjoy Amon Duul 2 more, but this album is just one incredible auditory trip into multiple dimensions of cosmic chaos. If you\'re looking to expand your psychedelic catalog beyond The Dead, then this should be your first and last stop.

Nothing special at all, aside from a few good moments. I went because my friend wanted to check it out. We didn\'t stay for more than half of it, as garlic pesto cheesebread nearby beckoned.

All girl Parliament Funkadelic spinoff. Featuring Bootsy on bass and other P-funk names. It\'s P-Funk related, \'nuff said.
TLG 9/29/06 GAMH.
It\'s good because Joe hates it.

Fragile State is my personal favorite trip hop act. Jazz/retro sounding oriented. Heavy on analog synthesizers and dreamy Rhodes keys. Seriously, these guys are under the radar and then some.
