Stephen King and Stewart O\'Nan, are co-writing \'Faithful\', a story about being a red sox fan that will recap this season.

last month, at yankee stadium, they were both at a red sox/yankees game. When the yankee fans began their ritual chant "1918! 1918! 1918!" to remind the Red Sox of their tragic history, O\'Nan had a comeback "2003! 2003! 2003!" He added, "It\'s nice to be in Yankee stadium, where so much Flordia Marlin history was made."

The teams with the better bullpens won the first two American League series and whoever has the better bullpen will likely win the ALCS.

Actually I prefer Prognosticator Pitchie, but it\'s not like I can take any credit for predicting the Yanks and Sox to meet in the ALCS. It was one of the easiest preseason picks in the history of sports. Picking this series is somewhat of a challenge, but I stay with Yanks in 7 even though Boston has a better team on paper. We know that means ****.

Because Dave, that particular game would have been a crummy loss for them, what with losing a 5 run lead... my boys need momentum going into the series against the Yankees. If they had had to scrap their way through that series, I would have bigger worries than I do about the upcoming battle with the Yanks.

Yankees in 7:

Sox win games 1, 3, and 5.  Yankees win 2, 4, 6, and 7.  Yes, yes, it all makes sense.  The devastation factor is all there: Sox never trail in series but can\'t get 2-game lead, blow 2 chances to clinch.  Schilling wins 1 and 5, Wakefield wins 3, Pedro loses 2 and 6 and Arroyo gets shelled in 4.  Kevin Brown throws 7 innings of 2-hit ball in game 7 to make the infamous "B" list.  This I guarantee...the stars are aligned...

Other game 7 predictions: Sox break scoreless tie in top of ninth with run off Rivera, Yankees answer with 2 in bottom of ninth off Foulke: Jeter single, A-Rod homer.

Yankees in 6 over Cardinals.

I cannot believe it has taken this long for the "Killer B\'s " to win a postseason series.
They got a chance albeit a slim one if Pujols keeps his MVP caliber play up.

Since it\'s going to matter to either Red Sox or Yankees fans, it\'s worth mentioning that October 29th is currently scheduled as a World Series off-day between games 5 and 6 (if necessary, of course).   Thus Fonghoulish Freakout VI will be completely free of "score updates" and relatively free of Yanks/Sox riots.

Well Bosox tried to rally but too little to late. No Schilling No Title. I HATE the yankees and the Bosox a little less but they sure play good games against each other.

Some questionable ball/strike calls against Boston (read: Sheffield in the 8th).  Though you can\'t really chalk a loss up to bad calls when you give up 10 runs.  I still have faith.  After all, Boston won Game 1 last year, and we know how that turned out.

I would never mask my contempt for either of these two teams, but last night I found myself rooting for both. First, for Mussina to throw the no-hitter, then for the Red Sox to come back and win. It has nothing to do with choosing one team over the other. It\'s simply about cheering for the best baseball possible. Great game. Two tonight.
