says Tim O\'Brien is playing Iron Horse 10/30 at 7 pm. Is this opening for them? I dunno. All confused yet again.

Oberlin has a well known music dept. those kids are probably pretty hip.  The breakfast should find out what tunes their orchestra/big band/jazz ensemble/any other on campus group are performing and tease them throughout the night.

Agreed, Oberlin is one of the best music schools in the country so exposing the band to music heads from across the nation will be a very good thing for the band. I think there is more potential to build a new fan base there than webster or toads which will just bring in alot of people who have been fans of the breakfast for the last n years.

Check out this page, there\'s 5 CDs worth of music to tease.  I don\'t think that they necessarily need to play something that the Oberlin band is playing.  An extended Adaggio or a composed Zappa tune (say from 200 Motels) might go over well.  That being said, the band is there to promote their music, so why not stack the deck with fan favorits and give them a variety of tunes to introduce them to the band.

see if SPAC will book you

I sent Tim a list of some places in the Saratogs/Albany area.  There really just isn\'t any where in Albany but Valentines and The Square.  There are a few places in Saratoga Springs...It\'s Confidential, The Parting Glass (TLG and others have played here) Cafe Lena, Gaffenys, Northern Lights in Clifton Park. I would promo the **** out of these shows.  College is gonna be in full swing again.  It\'s always busy in downtown Saratoga.

yeah i remember talking to you about that...saratoga is where its at in terms of capital region...bars are always crowded in the summer/early fall...it would be a good time

saratoga is redic.  they could also prob get a gig at skidmore if they wanted.  i remember rane played two shows there one night - one at the bar on campus, and one at a house party.  except for the fact that by the time they showed up for the party the cops had already shown up and it was shut down.  either way we had a good time ;)
