i honestly believe that in combo with woody\'s death, playing with plq really \'jammied\' up his playing. he used to be much more straight forward rocking (even with abb) than he\'s become since going uber-psychedelic with plq. don\'t get me wrong, i loved that incarnations, but still, mule has gone from face crushing rock to noodly jamband.

but the bonnaroo set is still badass! there\'s even a 5.1 matrix out there..d

Have to agree with a lot of this - I too prefer the heavier stuff - eg 1st closer Thorazine Shuffle was a killer while the reggaed and jammed up Play With Fire at the start of Set 2 didn\'t really do it for me. However, Soulshine (played strangely midway through set one) was really beautiful and some of the High & Mighty album was nearly as good as previous Woody era stuff - Streamline Woman is a return to the Mule of yore.

Not got that 5:1 version of Bonnaroo, but I can\'t imagine how good that must sound on the right system.

My comments referred to the London setlist. Sorry, should have been clearer.
