Whose got more funk, Hillel Slovak or John Frusciante? Although it\'s a fact that John is a better all round guitar player and dwarfs Hillel when it comes to technical playing, I think Hillel was funkier. Not to discredit John since he is and always will be my one of my favorite guitarists. Who do you think is faking the funk?

I would have to say this is a stupid question.....
only because I dont have an educated opinion on the subject.......

If John Fruschanti is God than I feel justified for believing not in God but some other spiritual answer for existance......

Fruschanti gets the "MEH of the day" award from me......especailly since Mike McCreedy owns the schnot outta him and I am, by far, NOT a huge Pearl Jam fan at least not since the mid 90\'s.......

The object of this thread was to see whose got the funk and not about who is the better guitar player, that is obvious it is frusciante. McCready is an amazing guitarist but he is better known for is SRVesque soloing and not his song writing(which stone gossard is way better at) nor his funk which he has none of. Likewise Navarro has about as much funk in his playing as Esteban. Which is none.

This thread is full of Funk.  It stinks!

I do totally agree with you regarding Stone Gossard however.  I wish Brad would put another album out....  I like Brad better than RHCP and PJ combined and multiplied by a billion....

Navarro holds no place in this poll for very obvious reasons. Although he is an exceptional guitarist, just like every other guitarist that was listed on this thread, he does not play funky music whatsoever. There is clearly no James Brown/Funkadeliks influence in his playing and he can\'t hold a candle either Hillel or Frusciante in the genre. I would agree that this may be a stupid question to most but it would be even more idiotic if he was listed as an option.
