Why are most Breakfast doozies described the same way?

Pretty much anytime someone reports on a Breakfast show that is a doozie( low turnout),it is always followed by " but the people that were there were getting down".

Well no shit sherlock, it\'s a Breakfast show.

No one is going to stay at a Breakfast show and not be into it. The Breakfast are too obnoxious (ie very loud) for that. One either likes it and gets down or one does not and leaves.

It is the rare person that can just sit and watch this band(w/o being zonked on mass headies) much less a rarer room where more than a couple people are doing that.

My take is that "but the people there were getting down" is an attempt to stay optimistic.  And it\'s not a bad sign completely.  At least, not as bad as the occasions when the entire crowd is listed by first name on the forum the next day.

all i have to say is that the first bfast show i went to was not what you would consider a doozie and i thought the band rocked and all, but the second one i went to months later, was a def dooze.  but a big reason why i was soo impressed by the band was the fact that they played with ten times the emotion, feeling, and soul than the first show i went to with less than half the heads there.  That was what sold me on this band, that they evoked the same feelings I had felt from seeing a show played to 30,000 people being played to 30. I think its a special thing to see a dooze, though they obv deserve much better.

i always have a great time at Breakfast shows but it\'s the crowd that makes or breaks a doozie. i\'ve seen the guys fired up and not so fired up before a show but they never fail to deliver in either instance.

I\'ve seen the band & fans call many shows a dooze, but I think the word itself is just overused.  Sure, they might not draw a huge crowd at every show, but if there are 30-40 NEW heads in the crowd, it shouldn\'t qualify as a dooze.  IMO, even a show with only 20 people shouldn\'t be a dooze.  Hopefully, each of those people will like it & tell a few friends. :shrug:

as stated earlier, the band still plays as if the room were packed, which is part of the reasons I have found so much respect for these folks..

oh yeah..that place was great. they searched my purse twice and followed me into the bathroom. there was a 24-hour barber shop across the street. really awesome!~!!!!

Leith,  your post makes no sense to me....
I dont understand where you are coming from or what point you are trying to make.....
Breakfast doozies are described the same way, because they usually go down the same way....are you trying to say anything pertinant or just trying to make me look/sound stupid?

However the Paugkeepsie doozie was probably the toughest breakfast dooize I have ever seen.  The room was filled with smoke that stunk of hamburger grease and dirty frying oil....

The harrisburg doozie was only less tough because Gabe was rockin harder than the entire room was, and that was just great to see........

i also watched a police pursuit outside the club in which the car being pursued crashed into another cop car and a cop smashed the dude\'s driver side window with his gun and dragged the guy out of the car.



oh and i received several offers for crack that night.

Yeah that is what i was thinking also. It just seems like it can be construed as trying to "cover" for the poor attendence and has become somewhat habit in show reviews.

As in no one showed up but it was not The Breakfast\'s fault, they played their asses off even with no one there.

Well isn\'t that what a band paid to play does if they are even close to being professional?

It seems to me on a fansite for this band that it can be assumed the guys raged it and I would think that the opposite would be more worthy of noting.

It also seems to me that in keeping up with this type of thinking "doozies are OK as long as the people there are rocking" only lends to the perception that this is a bar band not a Touring National Act.

Thank you captain obvious........  I mean we really needed you to point out that there was low attendance at the show and other breakfast doozies.....  And part of the fact that we have a new manager and we are currently in the process of devising a new grassroots structure, is to stop the doozies.......but thanks again for pointing that out to us.....You are on point from even 3000 miles away......
