expired?....then why did a member of moe. say it too me just last september? oh ...and by the way...they haven\'t worked together since before that. coincidence? you, me and others may not believe it but that stigma is far from expired IMHO despite the switch to the trio. the two criticisms that i hear the most are
1. terrible singers
2. sound too much like phish

well expired as far as i have heard of late........

honestly i dont think (especailly since jordan left) that they sound like phish at all.....  I mean what does that even mean?  doesnt every jamband sound like phish?  I would say moe. sounds more like phish than the breakfast ever have......

and since phish is such a huge band, still bigger than any other band in the scene in my opinon and they aren\'t even a band right now, i would take that as a compliment......

as for their singing, it keeps improving every show, every month, every year in my opinion, and maybe they wont ever have the vocal prowess that lifelong trained and studied singers have, but they have a lot of character in each of their voices and they are definitely improving as opposed to getting worse.....

It just feels like people are afraid to like this band......

frankly, if they\'re gonna semi-reularly play phish, play stash. play free. don\'t play yem (not without a keyboardist, at least!). keep golgi around for a crowd of n00bs/younguns/popped collar types that are gettin\' down, have some energy left and want a song they\'re familiar with. like a message in the bottle or in the flesh or something. the one thing no one denies is that this band has some serious fucking chops. some folks want more balls and less flash, some want more non-constantly raging tunes, some want less psychedelia, some want more psychedelia.... but no one thinks they need to go home and practice! so make that be the statement the band is making. every time we get on stage, we gonna be the best, most badass, mind numbing, awe-inspiring musicians ever. and everyone is gone know, respect and fucking fear us. yes we cover phish! we fucking nail antelope>stash>antelope then drop see the light>puppetry>grand scheme, what the fuck do you do?!!

ya, know?!

i\'m not very sure what that all has to do with anything, but please don\'t play antelope unless jill is there or i will never hear the end of it! ;)

That would be the attitude I would like to see the Breakfast bring to shows.

We are the Breakfast, this is what we do and we do it the way we like it.

covering phish is lame to begin with. Covering it as a three piece is even lamer. Phish was a four piece and none of thier tunes is going to sound good played by 3 people in a bar on a piece of shit sound system. The way they used to do yem was decent but thier version of golgi is crap and schould be scrapped forever. It was nice of them to end with tweeprise for ellis but if they continue to do that it all i have to say is pfffffffffffffff

I know i didnt hear it. It doesn\'t matter. It can\'t have sounded that epic unless you were really wasted. It\'s not even a song. It\'s a sick ending to a PHISH show.  For the breakfast to use it as a show ender (aside from ellis b-day request) would be sooo pfffffffffffffff .....

The Breakfast most defintely do whatever the fuck they want and really could give a fuck less what anyone else thinks.
It is very apparent in everything they do onstage and off.

In that sense they do. I\'m not sure how to really explain what I meant right now. To put it into words seems more difficult then to say it.

An ill-worded thread does not equal J. Upstate\'s comeoutance.  It does however show a greatening annoyance of the "is he gay or isn\'t he?" debate.  I\'ll let you guys in on a little secret:   I love muff-diving

It\'s actually called a freudian slip and using "macho" terms like muff diving does not make you appear straight.

Hope that helped.

I\'m confused...muffdiving is the name of a phish song?  or the name of the breakfast\'s new album...i\'ll let you in on a little secret...nevermind.
