Well, I tried to bring some fun and intelligence to this thread all year, but sadly this thread is now officially hijacked by losers whose teams are out and have nothing better to do than make asses of themselves and try to make everyone else as miserable as they are.  I\'m off to do better things with my life.  Have fun being losers together, I\'m not reading your posts.  Chow!

Ummm...leith?  I can believe the Sox have reached their potential and won\'t go any further, it\'s ok.  Good fandom does not require blind faith that your team will always win.  Good fandom DOES require monogamy. You\'re a sports bigamist.  You root for multiple teams and as soon as one goes down you hop on the bandwagon of the other.  It\'s one of the ultimate ways to suck at being a fan.  I\'m not making this up, please read here it\'s rule #19.  http://proxy.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/020227 .  Also notice there is nothing wrong with believing that your team is going to lose sometimes.  Also notice the 5-year grace period in rule 12 that I cited.

And Deblock (Yoda), you\'re saying that the Pirates, Yankees, Angles, Reds, and Diamondbacks all had the same season; not winning the World Series.  That\'s pretty dumb.  Hey you know what?  The Breakfast, Jurassic 5, Limp Bizkit, Maroon 5, Hubinger Street, and Clay Aiken have all had the same career: not selling out the Rose Bowl and going triple-platinum.  You\'re the guy who stopped seeing The Breakfast because it made your vag hurt.  You\'re that guy.  Don\'t even comment on anything involving fandom of of any type, ever.

My guess is you bought your first Red Sox hat after Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS.

Nope, put the Red Sox wallpaper up in my room at age 5, went to my first game with my dad and his dad (both dead now) in 1984 at age 4, still have my 1986 Sox team picture up in my room.  Maybe if you had been a Breakfast fan before 2004 you would have read the 2003, 2002, 2001, or 2000 baseball posts, in which I post about the Red Sox as well.  Next time go back and look through the threads before you make an ass out of yourself.  And tell us a little about what a Colts fan you were before Peyton while you\'re at it.

You\'re right - I stopped going to shows; it doesn\'t mean that I stopped liking the band or appreciating their music.  The jamband scene has this ass-backwards idea that you have to constantly go to shows to be a fan.  And for the record, I moved out of state, got married and bought a house - those are my responsibilities, not going to see a band every weekend.  We should be happy that people like the band, they shouldn\'t have to prove it.

Ugh. Could the bats have been any less aggressive last night? Seriously, you ARE allowed to swing at the first pitch. Cripes.

And not that I\'m making an excuse out of this, but that was some seriously terrible officiating. It affected both sides for sure, but man, that out of Manny\'s that should have been a walk was not even close.

I mean, all I ever wanted was for people to weigh in on the Beckett vs. Wakefield situation. Unless you Sox fans think they should start the Oil Can tonight.

Think Beckett should start tomorrow regardless. Wakefield can have a nice outing.

Beckett for sure. Look at what happened to the Mets. Use the guy. Tonight. We need a momentum change.

It\'s a 7 game series and you have decided they have reached their potential. You really do suck as a fan because you would have realized they reached their potential making it to the playoffs. They faced an Angels team ravaged by injuries. You cannot honestly believe they would have swept that team if they were healthy. Come On!
Yeah they have reached their potential so may as well give up. Yeah you\'d make a great manager. Pfffft.

haha I have always said I will root for The Angels over The Padres in any game they play against each other. What you have a problem with rooting for teams in opposite leagues? Oh ya I forgot you are younger than I am and probably have forgotten that the leagues used to only meet in the WS. So that was never a problem for me as both of the teams I root for never had a chance to meet. Now w/ interleague play I call myself an Angels fan first and always will. What I\'m supposed to just stop watching baseball because my team/s are out ?
I am a Baseball fan I like baseball so I root for a team to make it fun even if my team is gone. Sue Me.

Did anyone else laugh when Manny stood there like he hit a game winner?
That deserves a  Sorry Chip for sure.

Douche comment. That was the third run in a back to back to back home run streak. Manny should have been pumped. That could\'ve been the rally that started a ser comeback. But it wasn\'t:banghead:. The Indians have been unstoppable as of late. I have a lot of confidence in Beckett for the next start but after that... I think I hear the fat lady warming up her vocal chords. I\'m still keeping the faith for now, but I can\'t deny It\'s gettin UGLY.

so are you an Angels fan or a Padres fan? No matter what team from the National League is in the World Series, I will always root for the National League. I am a Braves fan. They are from the NL East. Maybe if the Mets were in the World Series, I would root against them, but if the Phillies made the Series this year, I would be rooting from them for sure. Go Rockies.

Personally, if your favorite team resides in the NL than you should root for the NL on the simple fact it gives recognition to your league and your team. Then again, I am not sure who your favorite team is, but I remember you giving more props to the Padres this season than the Angels.

On a side note, I think I had it right back when I called the Phillies winning the division and the Rockies the Wild Card.
