never said anything about the braves making the playoffs. yes i am a fan, but a realistic one and it doesn\'t look like the playoffs are in the cards this year for the Braves or the Mets. With that being said, like many Mets fans, I too will be rooting for the Braves to beat the Phillies tonight, something the Mets were unable to do in their last 8 tries. As far as I can remember the Braves never had a collaspe like this in their run of division titles. For the Mets this season definitely proves that last season was a fluke. Even if the Mets back into the playoffs, they won\'t be playing in the World Series again this year.

So you\'re saying the Phillies will most likely take the East and the Rockies will end up the Wild Card. Interesting. If the Padres don\'t make the playoffs, though I think they will, I will be pulling for the Rockies. They\'ve been shit on for most of their existence. Plenty of young talent on that squad and they are a fun team to watch. I will also be pulling for the Braves tonight as well as the...gulp...Dodgers. As much as that hurts to say, Rockies need to lose before their series with the Diamondbacks. I\'m going to be glued to the TV all weekend watching the NL divisional races unfold. So glad I have the MLB ticket.

really! I have not been paying much attention to the mets lately but man, that sucks! I guess it\'s a good time to be a phillies fan.

They were saying this moring (never happen) but that if colorado wins the remaining 14 games in the season it would break and create a shit load of records.

Obviously I enjoyed last night\'s Red Sox clinching party, especially how it all went down with the fans at Fenway staying an hour and 10 minutes after the Sox won to watch the O\'s pull off a spectacular comeback against the Yankees.  Thanks O\'s.  It\'s nice to win the AL East, really it is.  There are very, very few Sox fans wise enough and honest enough to say this though: it really doesn\'t mean a whole lot in a couple of days.  It\'s a new season, and when a team loses in the playoffs, the corresponding pennant is thought of with angst for all eternity.  Now, most Sox fans are nowhere near as wise and honest as I and will get up and preach about how great this is, but really, a wise Sox fan should know better than anyone that it doesn\'t matter how you get in.

Also loved the contrast last night watching Fenway and then seeing the fans at Shea.  OMG.  Boy was I glad I was in my shoes and not theirs last night.  Blowing the NL East lead for the first time since May 8th at home w/ 2 games to go.  Oof.  Someone keep Pitchie away from bridges for the next few weeks.  I feel bad for them.  I don\'t want to see the Mets lose.  F the Phillies, who cares about them?  

See you next week for playoff action!
