I for one like Bonds and I can\'t believe that so many people hate him.

I know that the HR record will not stand but Bonds is one of the best baseball players to ever play the game. Steroids or not, he still had a great career. This whole steroid thing is just a poor reason for so many people to hate him.

Steroids might have given him extra power but it didn\'t change his eye.

Drugs are a part of professional sports whether they are legal or illegal, they been here for a long time. MLB, IMO, is just looking for a scapegoat for a problem that they let drag on for years.

I\'ve made it almost four months without posting in this thread. But figured I\'d fill you in on why I hate Barry Bonds. It has nothing to do with steroids. It has nothing to do with his game, I think he was/is one of the greatest players of all time. But, unfortunately for Mr. Bonds, he is a complete fucking asshole. If he wasn\'t such a prick and had a better attitude, many less people would give two shits about the steroids thing, more would stick behind him regardless, and more would support his home run record chase without the \'it doesn\'t matter cos A-Rod will break it in five years anyway\' attitudes that baseball fans have about the chase. But alas, Bonds=Douchebag.

best part about a-rod\'s home ron was that michael kay wasn\'t calling the game today.

well, i have no problems with bonds whatsoever, I just watch to see him hit the homerun, without having to watch the last place Giants play every night on ESPN.

i think deep down bonds wants to be liked by the fans but the he has devoleped the whole uncaring a-hole persona as a defense mechanism to deal with all the crap he gets about the roid issue and now record issue

If you have HBO watch Costas NOW from this summer.  They interview the chemist who created "the clear", the substance that started this whole thing, and he says this is not true.  Users stated that it improved every aspect of their game. including seeing the ball better.

Chris I just watched that episode and you may want to watch it again. He is asked about the hand eye coordination and his answer to me seemed hesitant about that part of steroid benefits.

Barry Bonds is an incredible batter w/ or w/o steroids. One of the best I have ever seen for sure. Anybody remember how fun it was to watch him hit 73 home runs in a year?

If A-Rod stays healthy and does nor suffer Griffeyitis he will decimate the record wherever Bonds leaves it however.

as far as bonds being on steriods, whose to say if a-rod breaks the record that some of his homeruns would not b/c of steriods. just a thought

is it just steriods or what the MLB considers "illegal performance enhancing drugs", I have taken supplements that work really well that have been considered illegal by NCAA but were able to buy at a Vitamin World or GNC.

Is there a public list of the illegal substances? I just wonder what the list consists of.

I for one never cared for Sosa. I was hoping he wouldn\'t hit it. The HR race was fun to watch when it was a fresh single season record to be broken.

How about Rick Ankiel of the Cards?
After melting down as no pitcher has ever done before a couple years back, this guy accepts demotion to the Minors and reinvents himself as an outfielder. His first game back in the Show as an Outfielder and he hits a 3 run homer!
That\'s a Baseball Player right there!!!!!
