Exactly because there are so many people that visit the island daily and weekly in the summer. If we have a few posters up then maybe the fulltimers will come or some of the people who arrive for the weekends.

I personally believe that the attendance for this show is going to rely on the efforts of the Wild Pack the week and days leading up to the show.

If people are interested we are throwing together a little crew to hit up the island for those couple of days to hand out and hang up posters. Good way to meet some people and kill your day before the show.
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.

this is all very true spaceman...maybe us RIers can get out to BI sometime soon to start putting up posters.  this way the locals and other RIers that go to BI for shits and giggles will be aware of the show well in advance.  there are plenty of people that have houses on BI but do not reside there all year round, so putting up signs sooner than later might make a better showing.  know what i mean?

Looks like it, though I will be opting to work. I had already rescheduled lessons, but I might move them back.

I simply can\'t find a place to stay that is dog-friendly and affordable. And I don\'t want to leave her home. So I\'m out.

Do you still have a truck?

If so, bring it over and camp out in the bed with the woof.

Nope, no truck anymore. I currently drive the Official Car of Ex-Hippies Now Well-Off Lesbians: a Subaru Outback.

The camping isn\'t the issue... Sadie is happy enough to sleep with me in a tent.

It\'s a matter of needing somewhere for her to hang when I am in the shows/out and about in places that don\'t allow dogs. She can\'t just sit in my car; she\'d bake. And besides the idea of her sitting all cramped in my car makes me sad.

Yeah, Captain Nick probably wouldn\'t accomodate the dog at the show (though plenty of bars out here let people bring dogs in).

Is kennel Ma and Pa Hawe out of the question?

definitely a bummer joc...totally forgot about your  pup...the offer still stands if you want to keep her at my house in warwick.  my neighbors would be more than willing to babysit.  they\'re already gonna watch over my 2 cats and iguana.  and i\'m leaving my door unlocked so they\'d be able to let sadie in and out of the heat whenever she wants...plus they have AC (although my house stays really cool because it\'s shaded all day).  and she wouldn\'t be lonely because they would be with her at all times.  the only thing you would need to provide them with is some food.  oh...and sadie would also have to be cat/dog friendly.  ya know...don\'t want to upset my kitties and/or their dog.  just let me know so i can pass the word along.  :)

who\'s going both nights, and how hard is it to find a place to stay / camp / get car over / etc?  i havent been to block island since i was a kid and i think i remember everything being pretty complicated.  is there info on here about reservations and stuff?  i think i\'ll look for a hotel for the 1st nite and then leave after the 2nd show - is that even possible ferry-wise?

rooms many be hard to find at this point, it is the weekend before the 4th of July. the last freey leaves the island around 6 i think so leaving isn\'t an option. you also need to make a reservation to bring a car over because there are a limited amount of spots to bring cars over. if you really want to do all that i suggest you do it right away.
