Son of Simpleton
« on: December 20, 2003, 02:21:00 am »
I suppose this one\'s for the old Mokijam crowd...

Obviously I noticed that "Son of Simpleton" is basically (if not completely) just a faster version of "Simpleton".  At Tim\'s 12/17/03 acoustic show, he played "Simpleton" but sung the lyrics to "Son of Simpleton".  So my question is, do both songs have the same lyrics or was Tim just messing around by singing the "Son of Simpleton" lyrics to the tune of the original?

They are 2 different songs. At previous acoustic shows tim has played son of simpleton and then played just simpleton after it. And tim just plays son of simpleton  slower when he is playing by himself.

2 completely different songs. never tabbed it out, but just listing to it, simpleton has lots more chords, and almost all of them are \'jazz\' chords. son of simpleton is more of a striaght forward rock tune with standard 135 chords.  I think simpleton is a much better song.

@ SON OF SIMPLETON

Hey have you heard of a Simpleton?
Have you heard of him, name is Simpleton, oohooh
He had a son his name Ekkatin
Son of Simpleton, named him Ekkatin, oohooh
He was an eccentric little kid
Eccentric that he was, quite a different touch, oohooh
Blubta was one of his favorite toys
Blubta that he did, did it as a kid, oohooh
At two he scribble blubtonian
Scribbled it right, down on the ground, oohooh
Magical with painting and he painted wind
Painted wind and sound, sun and all the clouds, oohooh

It\'s so nice
To see a little kid, creative as he is
He\'s a son
Son of Simpleton, Son of Simpleton

When he grew up, he jumped out of his painting
