@ THE CHASE

Manthesis hawk, swoop low, searchin\' for a feast
Scanning along the horizon the sun shimmered off his beak
His eyes were fixed upon me, move closer without a blink
I closed my eyes for a moment and prayed he\'d leave me be
He attacked with fury, the force of a thousand men
I knew my life was over
As he circled about my head

Chase between good and evil, the worst is closing in
The fight is never over, but the battle they may win

I laid there for a second, trying to catch my breath
Rose to my feet slowly my eyes burnt from drippin\' sweat
He continued with determination to finish me piece by piece
My attempt to defend myself
Was pointless for I was weak

Sky fills up with terror, as his heart squashes my peace
Violence will not hurt him, it will only feed his needs

Why should I continue to struggle with this beast
He found what he was after his Tuesday morning feast
I stretched my arms above me, a perfectly shaped V
I surrendered my human body
In return for eternity

Thank you for releasing me from my machine
I\'ll meet you in the next life when you won\'t be chasin\' me (x2)

The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

The "MUAA HAAA HAAA" sets the stage for the whole story...drama like, you know?

Is that why he does that? I always thought it was because he knew he was about to tear some heads off playing the song.;)

You\'ll change your mind about the "Mwa has" now that Dobs is back on sound. Chad really fucked that part up dave. Just wait. You\'ll shit yourself with an extended "Mwa ha" intro.

I\'m sure it was great in person but on disc the jam they decide to dip into instead of going into the " Why should I ......" verse peters out pretty quick in creativity and leaves me thinking it was a nice try but does nothing for me in the way of making it a best ever.

I do not think it petered out as far as creativity at ALL.  If anything it seems like Matt was ready to REALLY take it out there and Tim decided to real it in and begin restating the theme.  That is like no other Chase you can show me, and while that doesn\'t automatically make it better, this version is what makes it better.  I am so excited to see them open up(albeit breifly) a song that basically is the same no matter WHAT.  The way Tim and Matt dance around the main theme without exactly stating it before the spacey section is very tight.  Ron and Ad were in each others heads as far as the lowend goes...keep listening Leith, you\'ll get it.

it did seem a lot cooler in person. but i am listened to it on lap top speakers which is obviously a big difference.  It probably is still the best ever version just because it is different than every other chase which is always pretty standard until now. there has not been very many insane versions of the chase. saying best chase ever is not like saying best queeb ever.  The jam rarely or never goes off the beaten prescribed path. They deffinitly could have played with the divergence a little more but they keep it short and sweet so in that way they stay true to the tune but in a totally new way. I am not gonna relisten to the rest of the show until I can do it on a proper sound system though.
