Thank you for being there Leith...
You are welcome all but like I told Tim and Adrian, it was just a hop down the freeway for me but they came across the country!
Ron was supposed to be there also but a sudden family thing kept him from attending. It was one of Gia\'s dying wishes that The Breakfast play.
The "MC" of the Memorial did mention that the guys had a memorial for Gia on their website which was cool.
I had written something down but when I got up I just blanked and began to blabber on about how fun she was, how I met her because of this "little band outta CT called The Breakfast" and how she became a part of our Bfam. I talked about her zeal/zest for life, following the band w/ her, and that even though I never heard her sing an Opera proper I did get to hear her sing White Rabbit w/ The Breakfast!
I don\'t really remember all that I said but a few folks thanked me for speaking so it must have made some sense!
The place was packed. She was loved by ALOT of people and I signed the guestbook w/ my name and put "thebreakfast.info (in spirit)."
Sidenote:
it was odd after the guys were done playing Good Things and were leaving the stage, hearing people murmur about how good they were. It was kinda like yeah those guys
are Rockstars and Gia just had them play @ her Memorial. That is damn cool!
Pretty much what I was going to write, so I won\'t bother repeating.
Awesome that Tim and Adrian played for her!!!
Yeah I told them that was very very cool. I also mentioned to Tim that I had heard the TKA show dedicated to Gia and how I could never had made it through the night w/o just becoming a crying useless ball in the corner. Tim chuckled and said he almost cancelled playing that night because his hand muscles were so tight from grief. I told him I was glad he fought through and played as those discs have been a lot of relief to me.
