Rust = great
Tricky Ways = great

Both are good songs, in different ways... it\'s hard to compare them to each other, side by side, IMO.

I like "May Fly Disarray".  It\'s better than "Rust"... I think.

well I think we can all now exhale and relax knowing that Joe loves the Breakfast...... ;)

welcome to the dark side TreyChica....

Meh, I\'ve been wallowing in the shadows of tB for awhile. I just feel good that I can allow myself to love something I enjoy without the bullshit reasons that try to stop me from having a positive experience.

what sucks is the album is so good and nobodies even really talking about it.

Where is the distribution deal??  Where is the publicity?  The online hype? Blogs etc etc...  I hope the band invests in a publicist before it\'s too late.

Thanks Leith me too.. It\'s a sick counselor/teaching position at a progressive school.

Most of the songs on the album are blown out of the water by almost any recent live version of said song...

Future Peek, Overexposure, Intension... prime examples

Oh yeah and the production quality / sound levels sound so one-dimensional, like Real Radio style, I just can\'t put that out of my mind when I\'m listening to both these albums. It makes my nice Alpine stereo sound like a piece of crap. I have friends with amateur recording gear that can make a track sound more dimensional and less muddy. Somehow they managed to pull of a nice clean sound on Duece I honestly don\'t know what the deals been since then. Rocking harder is all well and good but I\'d still like to be able to hear all the parts and different instruments in detail..

But really this is to the bands live performance credit, I doubt they will ever put out a truly mind blowing album (ALA CONCEPT ALBUM) unless they hook up with a really visionary producer.

... or they just release a "best of" two-disc live album!

Number one complaint I hear from people who I play tB for.... "They\'re obviously talented, but too one dimensional"....
I think we should start a paypal account and raise some money so the band can pay John McEntire to  produce their next album... Yep, that would solve their studio issues in a heartbeat.

As for the Tricky Ways/ Rust debate... C\'mon, anyone who LISTENS to this band knows they\'re selling themselves short with these short bluesy numbers. They\'re good at creating catchy riffs and melodies, which is rare nowadays in music.  But who am I to argue another\'s art?
Free me from vices, free me from fear.. Free me from anything that keeps me from here.

Even some of their weaker songs (TW, Rust) are sometimes played exceptionally well.

IMHO, these songs are necessary.  Necessary for a set to break things up, and the same for and album, again IMHO I dont\' hink these songs are bad in and of themselves, they\'re just another tool in the reptoire, I mean hey, every song can\'t be a Mooboo\'s or Queeb, or the short power house that is SOS.

It\'s easy to compare when they suck in such similar ways though.

Uhhh Joe, looks like the drugs are wearing off again...I hope you took some more before that interview.

Interviewer: So Mr. Boncek, why do you want to work here?

Joe: Walking through the dark and unseasonably warm streets of Burlington last night I indulged myself in the company\'s annual report. I just can\'t deny myself the joy I get out of this company. Sure I\'ve moved on in my career and I don\'t exactly agree with the direction you\'re going, but I still think this company has something REALLY special. It\'s like you\'re able to tap into this lost 70\'s energy that gives you a somewhat antiquated business strategy, of course this is meant as a compliment. I\'ve tried to denounce this company multiple times for a pleorethra of reasons, many personal, others unfounded and irrational. but in the end I can\'t deny that this company gives me multiple euphoric peak experiences, nor can I deny that the 401(K) plan and employee discount has turned into comfort food for my psyche whenever I get depressed. I truly hope things change for this company on a professional level. I personally want to see you succeed and be able to sell more and more product of semi recent caliber (I won\'t lie, I think the new Widgetizer 2000 and the new Widget Deluxe are possibly the two worst/generic products you have). I meant for this interview to be longer but I have to go to a rock concert....

Interviewer:  Thanks, Joe.  Don\'t call us, we\'ll call you.
