Snoe.down \'07, the all ages, weekend winter music festival, returns to beautiful Lake Placid, NY, the weekend of March 23-25, 2007. Snoe.down features an eclectic mix of live music on several stages around the Lake Placid area including at the nearby ski area, Whiteface. Two stages in the Olympic Center feature well known artists on Friday and Saturday, March 23 & 24, in addition to the popular indie-jam band moe.. Additional bands will perform at other venues throughout the weekend, including afternoons in the lodge at Whiteface and late night at select area establishments. Snoe.down is advertised and promoted throughout the country and in its first year in Lake Placid 4000 attendees experienced the festival firsthand. Deeply discounted lift tickets to Whiteface are available for purchase with the festival ticket.
Fans will be able to take advantage of a myriad of winter activities. During the concerts fans will even have the option of ice skating while listening to the show! Other area activities include: Public bobsled and luge rocket rides (weather permitting), outdoor public speed skating (weather permitting), gondola rides to the top of Whiteface, toboggan rides and dog sled rides on Mirror Lake, ice climbing and winter mountaineering, tubing on Saranac Lake, visiting the Olympic ski jump towers and touring the 1932 & 1980 Winter Olympic Museum.
There is one slot is reserved for a Sonicbids member to perform an intimate après ski set in Whiteface’s Cloudspin Lounge. The San Francisco, CA band Tea Leaf Green performed this same set in 2006 before a packed house of fans. The chosen band will perform one 90-minute set on Saturday, March 24, 2007 and will be compensated $500. Although no travel or lodging is provided complimentary festival style hospitality will be available. In addition the opportunity to be included on the Snoe.down ’07 promo compilation CD will be available.
The Snoe.down ’06 festival featured moe., Assembly of Dust, Everyone Orchestra, Soulive, Tea Leaf Green, Ryan Montbleau, James Hunter, Wiley Dobbs, Chuch, Woodenspoon, Dread Clampitt and U-Melt.
