I don\'t disagree with you Me! at all. The people who ran the show were all about the Breakfast like I have never seen. She basically backed Stephen into the corner and was like "you tell them to make it happen", "we want them for NYE", "you tell your people to let them know and lets make this happen", after about 5-minutes of this and the breakdown in HB, I went back inside. They dig the b\'fast and she mentioned something about getting ellis all the lights he wants/needs for NYE.

It\'s hard ro argue with that

but if there were only a handful of people there, is that what NYE would be like too?

tapers checking in here: yup, only about 50 paid I would bet.  the tape is OKay, this club is not the greatest for acoustics.  Kindms and bigmamagrape were there with me and he should have the show up after they get home from wormtown.  (For those who care: AKG c414\'s omni spaced 17 cm hung from ceiling about 8 feet in front of stage -> V3@16/48 -> I river/D8.)  Sounds a bit boomy on first listen.

edit to add: dam, I almost forgot to say what a great performance!  These songs got really extended, and awesome 2nd set rapport with the audience.  Adrian\'s set up in front with the band liek a jazz trio is really entertaining to be able to actually SEE him play instead of being way in the back.

I live in Albany area and I have a few opinions about Red Square in general and bkfst NYE in particular:
Red squre is nice, the owners and bookers are solid folks.  I think the capacity can\'t be more than 400, prolly more like 350.  For a THU night show that wasn\'t locally advertised even at the food co op 1 mile up the street I am not surprised by the turnout.  HOwever, with SUNY Albany over 21\'s living off campus within easy reach of Red Square more CAN be done.
The next time they are here I will flyer on LArk street and at the co op, I can\'t do more than that, but I think that will increase attendance here.  This town has several colleges in it, a student population of at least 50,000 if you count RPI in Troy, SUNy, College of St, Rose, Albany School off Pharmacy, Union college,Skidmore ( in Saratoga, but still close)

About NYE, I think the place is too small, that is the only "downside" I can see other than not being in CT, which seems to make the most sense, family and more hardcores fans being local to CT.

II: Space City Affair > Hard Luck Harry > Heather > Surreal Radio, Honey Butter > The Grand Scheme Of Things > Drum Solo > The Grand Scheme Of Things > Memory Of A Free Festival Reprise

E: Intension

1 - Inverted

Happy Birthday sung to Animal by the crowd at Encore Break.

When Adrian showed me the two sets he wrote for last night, well first I had to scoop my jaw off the floor.  One of the best written setlists in some time.  The first set looked like it was going to rule the night, however, this was not the case.  Though the inverted Psygn to open the night was cool and a fresh idea, and the inverted Attraction was sick as ballz, the return of Hard Luck, the jam from HLH > Heather, Scheme, and Memory (Reprise) owned the night.

The crowd was into the show all night and Red Square is a pretty cool venue.  They are just open under new ownership and hopefully we can get there again.

I was a bit disappointed in the turnout and was having a conversation with Bigmamablueberry about this.  What does this band have to do to get people to their shows?  This is a mystery.  I was thinking about this on the ride home and came up with this.....What do people go to see live rock music shows for?  Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll.   Obviously just having one of the three is not enough, because the boys bring the balls to the wall Rock and Roll each and every night.  So when you think to yourself, "what can I do to help get people to Breakfast shows?", lets start thinking sex and drugs please ;)

Great to see all those that made it out to the show.....Josh (aka bdfreetuna) great to see you again and hope to rage out again soon......Gabe....I cant believe that your sister remembered me from the boat cruise......she (and her friend) = cool ass friggin folk....missed you though......

Back in June I gave my vote to Psygn over StL w/ this post

"Well if they ever invert Psygn it will blow minds all over so it got my vote."

Hope it sounds as neat as I thought it might.

She and I spoke about this on the drive home after the show.  We came up with the same three reasons why folks go to shows :stoned: , and added to see old friends and to meet new ones to the list, making 4 reasons.
One thing I can think of that IS unique, but would require some effort by some one affilliated with the band is this:  making sure that someone from the local music press gets invited and IF they come writes a review.  For instance, the Albany paper is Metroland, and I am wondering if it was covered.  In essence, this is one of the things a P.R. person would do for artists, which of course, they can\'t afford.  So I wonder how this could be accomplished by the likes of us fans?  e mail the papers ahead of time????  I am just spouting here and have zero time to do this.  Does anyone have any other [ good, not silly:bounce2: ] ideas????

Has anyone ever explored the possibilties of contacting student services at any colleges? Get names and numbers of student leaders. College heads are always looking for something to do! And Thursday nights are ussually huge. BUT...they need to know about it!!! These are resources that were being worked on years ago and now.....:hscratch:

Here\'s one.  People don\'t go to a show unless they\'ve heard of the band.

Perhaps Mr. Gencs might be a source of the requested track lengths?

Good, good times :)

I was tired as hell for this show but I made it front-row standing to the end, so it must have been good ;)

Psygn inverted = the way to go!!
Merge was insanity
Beef Barley was fun as hell
ummm.... MEMORY + REPRISE!!!!!! that made me happy to say the least

Stephen I\'m with you on the sex+drugs bro... somebody\'s gotta put little pieces of paper inside that mountain of free DVDs.. I betcha a few more people would be sticking around for the second set hehehe

oh yeah, and sex too, definitely

... Turnout was pretty damn small but it\'s good to see a lot of familiar faces having a blast. Oh yeah, if that mysterious gap between the stage and the crowd lasted for any longer than the first song I was about to start doing weird things in that space. Probably a good thing people loosened up quick ;)

Sometimes I like that gap....gives me room to move around and take pics!!! Of course, I usually don\'t taking any until mid first or second set.
