Short answer: One who lives by the belief stuctures that predate the times of the biblical flood, but in the current era.
Long answer:
antediluvian refers to anyone living before the flood, which means those that lived before belief in yhwh was founded into what could be called more than just a local cult. All people born before john the baptist are guilty of original sin, as they were never baptised, therefor none of them are allowed into heaven. The concept of this has been a pain for many theologist for centuries and one of the first well know attempts to answer it was by the
Apostles Creed with the line "He [jesus] decended into hell, the third day he rose again." The heads of church decided that this battle royal over the souls of millions was too confusing for the average middle age christian (but reciting the mass in latin wasn\'t for some reason), so the line was dropped and most people are not familiar with it today. An attempt to further explain it was done by
Boccaccio when he created the concept of "limbo" as a place where all these sinners would go after death. As it stands now, according to the church some of these people have been lifted into heaven, (saints) while the rest of them are in a suspended animation awaiting the return of Christ.
Incidentally, this is parallel but completely different from the jewish concept of heaven (remember there is no "hell" in judism). Heaven in this theology is simply a closeness to god, and "hell" would be the pain you feel because you are distant from him. The more you sin, the greater the distance.
Another side, the flood story has history in pretty much any civilization, including but not limited to Jewdism, Babalonians, greeks, romans, native americans and celtics, most notibly with the
Epic of Gilgamesh in the babylonian histories. Remember the mindset of those who wrote down these stories: to them, the southern US could have been the whole world, so what happened in ne orleans last year would have been a flood that covered the whole earth. Most docterns follow that since the flood legend is so universal and so improbable, it was probably a localised incident that destroyed a vast area of land.
