just got back home. hung over as hell. AMAZING show!! they came out and threw down from start to finish! stl was unreal, and all of second set just pummelled us with notes and gigantic jams! honeybutter>merge>honeybutter was an all out blitzkrieg! and i\'m pretty sure i heard a crosstown traffic tease at the very begining of dmb. my buddy, whom i\'ve dragged to 6 or 7 bfast shows, said that, hands down, this was by far the best show he\'s seen by them. he said its a little weird seeing tim move over to the keys instead of staying on guitar, but he liked what tim did when he was on keys, and there was never a gap in inetensity when he did switch over, so it was something he thought was easy to accept. oh, and best buquebus ever!

ok, i\'m gonna go hide my head under some sand and try to get some more sleep.

taped?

heh.. listen to this one..

the club doesn\'t allow tapers to set up mics. they have a set of house mics set up, with a patchbay that you can bring a deck to plug into. many tapers are really turned off by this rule, and refuse to give the venue their business.

the house also records the show and gives it to the band afterwards. sure enough, the house recording "failed" last night, so no, there is no recording.

As a taper, what is a common excuse provided by such clubs for taper-unfriendly policies?

small place, don\'t want mic stands getting in the way of others, etc..

there must be new managment with the new name. Cause "The Funk Box" always allowed tapers

This figures. There was a HUGE mess awhile back on the TLG forum over this policy.
The owner of the place even came in and tried to support his policy only to be railed by the taping community there. Every point the tapers made has since been proven and this is not the first time the policy has backfired on the fans and the band playing there.

Owner of the 8x10=CLUELESS!!!!!!!

Yeah one of the points mentioned by the TLG tapers. Alot of them had taped there before and were turned off by the new policy.

that fucking sucks. not sure what the deal is with taping...i know that a few times when i\'ve been there the management has been cool as hell and i know shows have been taped in the past. what a stupid fucking policy though.
