Bah!
A win is a win and they were both dominating performances in different ways.  The defense the Chargers have is unbelievable and the way Philip is handling the offense, if any team thinks like you do they will be in for a shock!

I hear what you\'re saying and you\'re right the Chargers are definitely a solid team but lets wait until they beat a decent team.  LIke I said the Raiders and Titans are what I would call "playoff teams" meanwhile LT has been doing great for my fantasy team.

Patriots win again.  *Yawn*

Since I was tooling on the Giants fans last week after their tough loss it\'s only fair that I come back and say congrats on the great comeback.  Eli might turn out to be more clutch than Pey-rod.  Peyton sure knows how to pile up the TDs against the Houstons of the world, but at this point I\'d say Eli is slightly more likely to be the first Manning to appear in a Super Bowl.

I watched the action from the sports book at the Venetian in the heart of Las Vegas.  It was quite an experience.  If you\'re a football fan and you\'ve never watched NFL action from a Vegas sports book, put this on your to-do list.  Imagine a bar with fans from all parts of the country rooting for their teams at the same time.  The whole neutral-site factor is really cool and impossible to recreate anywhere else.  Then throw in the fact that everyone in the room has action on other games too, thus every big play and big call results in simultaneous cacophanies of joy and aggravation.  Every game is on a projector screen and several smaller TVs.  And here\'s the kicker: drinks are free all day.  Does this sound like a fun bar?  You bet it is.  The best part of the day was that the 4 loudest guys in the whole room were Eagles fans.  During the first 3 quarters it was back-slapping happy fun time for them.  30 minutes later they were being escorted off the casino grounds.  Good times!

FAQ (from gribblenation.com)

What do the white areas mean?
Welcome to the world of blackout rules. The short answer is: no game at all. This can be due to one of two rules: a) no games can air at the same time as a local team\'s home game on another network, or b ) if a game is blacked out because it doesn\'t sell out, the network with the doubleheader can only show one game. Don’t shoot the messenger, I think the rules are stupid too.

So what exactly are the blackout rules?
The short answer: If a game doesn\'t sell out within 72 hours of kickoff, there is no local television broadcast. "Local" in this case is defined as anywhere within 75 miles from the stadium. If a station from outside that 75-mile zone has any part of its coverage area crossing over, it gets blacked out too. This is why virtually all of Arizona, for instance, gets blacked out of Cardinals games.

Who decides what games get shown in my area?
The networks, with some guidance from the NFL. The league sets "primary markets" and "secondary markets" for most teams, and those markets are required to show all road games involving the "local" team. Primary markets are required to air home games too, unless they don\'t sell out. The "primary market" is the market in which the team is physically located (i.e. Boston for the Patriots). The "secondary markets" are adjoining markets assigned at the discretion of the league (again using the Patriots example, Providence and Portland ME). Secondary markets are not required to air home games, and if there\'s another team nearby, they don\'t.

Harrisburg PA is a good example. Because Baltimore is the closest team, the NFL has designated it a Ravens secondary market. However, the stations there have noticed there are more stealers fans. So the CBS affiliate there, despite having to air Ravens *road* games in case of a stealers conflict (and enduring the wrath of the local fans every time it happens), they do air the stealers whenever the Ravens play at *home*.

Outside of these primary and secondary markets, and even in them if the local team isn\'t playing, the network is the sole arbiter of what game gets shown where, but usually after taking input from the local affiliates. Affiliates can request a particular game be shown to their market, and the network will (usually) agree unless it runs against the secondary market rules. The CBS affiliate in Orlando in 2005, after several desperate attempts, couldn\'t show a Dolphins-Buccaneers game because, for some reason, the NFL said Orlando is a Jaguars market.

Not all markets are designated by one team or another as a secondary market, usually only the ones closest to the stadium (i.e. the ones that would be blacked out if not a sellout). Other markets can air one team’s games more often than not, but that rule isn’t set in stone.

Stations in the 32 team markets are not allowed to air a game if the other network has a local team\'s home game at the same time. Instead, they have to air one in the other timeslot. The rule does not specifically apply if the local team is on the road, but that\'s on the doubleheader network, the singleheader network usually airs a game in the opposite timeslot. This is usually how those 49ers-Texans duds end up on the air in Cleveland.

How come these tiny specks in Nebraska are getting a different game?
One of two reasons: Sometimes a popular player is from a certain area, so the local station there likes to show as many games of his team as possible. This is especially true in college towns. The other reason has to do with the Fox network. Since it\'s a newer, smaller network, it doesn\'t have as many affiliates as CBS, ABC or NBC. So there is a national satellite feed called FoxNet that is distributed to cable companies in the smallest markets and other remote areas, which usually carries Fox\'s national game. I\'ve tried to show as many areas that carry FoxNet as I can on the maps.

DALLAS -- Flamboyant Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens attempted suicide by overdosing on pain medication, even putting two more pills into his mouth after fire rescue personnel arrived, The Associated Press reported Wednesday citing a police report.

ESPN Radio

A police report says that Terrell Owens was hospitalized after a suicide attempt. Ed Werder and ESPN Radio 103.3\'s Jennifer Engel give the latest news and early reaction from Dallas.
• Mike and Mike

A Dallas police report released Wednesday morning said Owens told a friend "that he was depressed." The report was first released by WFAA-TV.

The friend, who is not identified in the report, "noticed that [his] prescription pain medication was empty and observed [Owens] putting two pills in his mouth," the police report said.

The friend attempted to pry them out with her fingers, then was told by Owens that before this incident he\'d taken only five of the 40 pain pills in the bottle he\'d emptied. Owens was asked by rescue workers "if he was attempting to harm himself, at which time [he] stated, \'Yes.\'"

KTVT-TV in Dallas reported that a woman named "Etheridge", likely his publicist Kim Etheridge, called police at 7:51 p.m. to report a suicide attempt. KTVT-TV reported that Owens ingested 35 pills.

Owens left the hospital early this morning, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. A hospital spokeswoman told The Associated Press early Wednesday there was no patient registered as Terrell Owens, although federal privacy laws allow people to block their name from being released.

Dallas police officials, who said they were planning a news conference later Wednesday, did not immediately release a time. The Cowboys have called a 2:30 p.m. ET news conference.

Owens\' publicist and agent, and the Cowboys, did not return repeated calls from The Associated Press. No teammates or Cowboys officials were seen entering the hospital late Tuesday night.

Owens was taken to the emergency room Tuesday night. A source close to Owens had told ESPN\'s Ed Werder early Wednesday morning that Owens was suffering an adverse reaction to painkillers taken for treatment of his fractured hand.

"This is not serious," Etheridge said in Wednesday\'s online edition of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, before news of the reported suicide attempt was released.

A report earlier Tuesday stated that Owens would practice with the team Wednesday and possibly play Sunday at Tennessee, but his availability this week and beyond is now uncertain.

 Owens

Owens fractured the fourth metacarpal bone in the Cowboys\' victory over the Washington Redskins and underwent surgery on Sept. 18. The next day, a plate was screwed in, protecting the bone so it can heal without further damage.

Cowboys coach Bill Parcells mentioned in a press conference shortly thereafter that pain medication had made Owens ill, apparently making this the second time he has had an adverse reaction. The incident that sent him to the hospital Tuesday night apparently occurred sometime after Owens took medication after catching passes at the Cowboys\' facility on Tuesday.

With the Cowboys having had a bye last weekend, it was thought that Owens could return without having missed a game. Before Wednesday\'s developments, Owens said he would play Oct. 8, when he gets to face his former team, the Eagles, in Philadelphia
