I don\'t know Jordan personally, but completely understand where he is coming from.  I too gave up a job and lifestyle I loved (twice) in order to have more economic stability and spend more (any) time with my wife.

I\'m sure this decesion ripped his heart out.

Much respect.

Thanks for 7 great years.

Princess...

The band has been very professional about this.  In fact, if you care to notice, the is NO official comment on this.  Only some heresay.

An official comment would be from the band, Alex DeFelice, and myself.  An official comment will be made on Monday, as was planned.

:hscratch:

sooo...the professional thing to do would have been to let everybody know after the fact that jordan was gone? two "professional" bands that i have followed in my day (phish and the disco biscuits) let fans know months in advance about their breakup/departure...

well stated zuke, my point exactly.

mr. steffmo, i did care to notice the lack of any communication with the fans... last i checked, it takes a dedicated fanbase to be a successful band, and its only fair to keep them in the loop, and make them feel as important as they are. i\'m wondering a bit what the reasoning was behind this decision...?
and what CAN you do, when your world is invaded by a reggaejunkiejew?!?

Well, you are of course entitled to your opinion.

And no is sorrier than I that its has come to this.   What was planned was that we would announce this shortly, and that Jordan would play through the summer.  We planned for a three month transition.

However, Jordan\'s situation would not allow for him to play gigs that required and travel, so we were left with more and more dates the band would have to use a sub or play as a trio.  Once that started to happen this board would have been buzzing with gossip anyway.  Jordan not at 10KLF????  Or any of the shows on that run????  To wierd.

This has been emotionally draining for all of them.  The band doesn\'t want to lose Jordan, and I\'m sure in his heart of hearts Jordan doesn\'t want to leave.  But this halfway in and halfway out situation was doing more harm to their relationship than anything, so the guys decided it made more sense to get it done.

No one is at fault for this, people live change.  The band made this decision for their own sanity, and they need more support than anything else.

The timing is unfortunate, and I don\'t mind apologizing for that.  The rest there wasn\'t much choice on.  Jordan made a decision, we have had to deal with it.

Totally understand Vic. Life happens when you least expect it, right?  I\'m going to put out some emails to some keyboardists I know about this opening.

i see things a bit more clearly now, so thanks. the band has never gone through anything like this before, and i certainly understand the emotional drain that this decision must have had on the band. nobody is pointing fingers or blaming anyone for the choice that jordan has made, as we\'ve all concluded throughout this thread it certainly was not a lighthearted decision.

i guess you just don\'t understand the bond that the fans (at least myself/and my close friends, self titled the "b\'fam") have with these guys. i\'d be lying if i said i didnt know this was coming for months now, but honestly, when i was making decorations for the 1000th show, i would have really liked to throw something special in for jordan since it would be the last time i\'d see the 4 guys together.... perhaps grooved a litttttle bit harder than usual to bid farewell to the band i\'m fanatical about....

but we surely always have and always will offer as much support as we can to these guys, cuz we love them like family. just wish i could have had a heads up and said goodbye, is all.

:sadban:  Have to say, this has ruined my weekend. Just when I think I might get out to the States in the less distant future, I find we are saying goodbye to a great vocalist and probably the best keyboard player on the jamband scene. Let\'s hope the guys can luck out finding another player who at least approaches Jordan\'s calibre.

In the meantime, good luck with your day job, Jordan, whatever that may be. You will be sorely missed; I hope you can still fit some sit-ins with the guys for home gigs - ideally for when I finally get the chance to get over. ;)

Princess....

I\'ve been in and around bands for 30plus years...i definitely understand where you are coming from.  As to the Toad\'s thing...we weren\'t expecting this to happen.  Jordan was going to continue until perhaps September.  I don\'t want to point any fingers...i happen to be very fond of Jordan and expect to work with him more in the future, but the situation just reached a point where something had to be done for the good of all parties.

Its certainly no fun for Jordan traveling to distant gigs when in his mind he has already taken himself out of the band.  Sitting all together in the van can get kind of tense when things aren\'t right.

These guys spent 8 years living together and breathing the same air.  Like many relationships, sometimes a bit of time apart makes all appreciate each other a lot better.  And I\'m sure that will happen here.  I\'m sure he\'ll sit in now and then, and it will be great.  Who knows, under some circumstance he could even be back in the band at a later date.

Life does some funny things, I\'ve been around the block a few times, and seen an awful lot of it in the band world.  Right now the most important thing is to keep the band healthy and stable, and moving up....whoever is in it.

Thanks for understaanding all.  this has been a very difficult thing for all concerned.

with that being said. i hope they rock the shit out of beardslee tonight. can\'t wait to see and hear the setlist.  i talked to jordan a few times before at setbreaks and what not, he seems like a real-down to earth guy and I will miss him being apart of the band.
