Not trying to start a flame war but whats the motivation for making a new album ? Real radio isn\'t that old, they never have merch at shows and or a copy of the album they just made.

So whats the reason behind a new album? is it just to get the new material on wax ?

I have to admit I was surprised to hear they were recording a new album, despite the abundance of great tunes that haven\'t been recorded.

It seems as if the investment in Real Radio hasn\'t completely been paid back in sales, though I\'m speculating.

Good question.

They just "introduced" Real Radio to the West Coast in March.

So now if as mentioned by Tim on that tour, they make a fall West Coast run will it be in support of TWO albums?

I would think that the money spent on this could have funded a pretty sweet Summer Tour.

Seeing as touring has been a PROVEN method of growing the fanbase and album sales have not really spurned an uprise in visibility anywhere.

Hmmm.

but if your planning a giant fall tour and want to have TONS of merchandise to assault the masses with maybe? (no inside information, just guessing)

I\'m glad they\'re producing more tunes, esp since I can\'t remember any of the song titles!  A new album would let me listen to more tunes/remember more tunes ;)

Yeah, I listened to Real Radio once and then don\'t think I ever listened to any of it again because I had way better versions of everything live off LMA. Maybe there are some fans that are down with the albums but I\'ve never really given them a second glance because the live performances are so much better and more energetic and diverse.

I don\'t know how much $$$ they make from album sales though, but I\'d guess it\'s slim. I suppose it\'s good for them to come out with albums so they can tour "in support" of one. Some venues like it when you have an album out recently (obviously the northeast venues could care less, Breakfast is a staple of the scene by now... but I don\'t know about west coast/south there may be less fans out there. I hear there\'s a good midwest base though :)

anyway, rambling... I doubt producing another album will cut into touring or reduce the # of dates. I\'ll toss the band 10 bux and give it a listen anyway though.

Is the tracklist still secret?

I bet Future Peek will be good on album, I\'d like to hear a clean-produced version of that. And Good Things. Hopefully Tricky Ways is packed into a 3 minute version and leaves space for the other songs to jam out ;)
