Don\'t get too excited.
With an early start time it may not be really dark and being the 1st of 3 bands there is no way Ellis will have anything but pars. It will be alot of pars but pars nonetheless.

the way the stage is set up at festie pier, the sun will be in the background of the stage from about 5 to sundown(7:30-8).  and from what I was told from last years moe. set there opening for the abb, the sun is gonna be blinding everyone looking at teh stage till it goes down.

lights prolly wont be usable at all until teh end of nmas\'s set.

too bad booking shows isn\'t enough. what good is having shows when no one come out. great example is Coda and dare I say, Mill Street.

book away but perhaps this upper echelon can get people to the show or is that not important.

The new album from moe. Wormwood solves a puzzle pondered by countless bands that have never been able to marry their performing and recording sides without some sort of compromise. Not so with Wormwood, a live/studio hybrid, as much the product of meticulous editing and overdubbing as risky, go-for-it improvisation. the site did say doors at 5 and show at 6 yesterday(since it was put up it has.)  I guess the breakfast are now playing at 5, not 6.  makes sense for sure.  they cant play past 11 at festie pier.

I feel bad for all the booze cruisers(unless of course they can get the captain to park like right outside festie pier for the last hour to catch the b-fast)

even more reason for the breakfast to play after moe.  they could play during moe. but I wont be there :)

As far as we know showtime is 6.  We only get 45 min.  i thing NMAS get an hour.  So if Moe hits about 8:30 they get two set done by 11.

With all due respect Spacey...it isn\'t management\'s job to cart folks to the gigs.  We try to creat a climate where folks WILL come, and we work with the promoters to help do that.

The circumstances around the Cods gig should obviously explain why there was not a great turn out.  However all due diligence was done to promote the show.  Obviously Pearl Jam is exponentially bigger band...and even DSO is more popular.  If each band took 35 heads that might have attended, the crowd is doubled and everyone is a least content.  If all knew who the competiton was that night, there might not have been any gig.  But whatever, the promoter asked, and we played.  Quite well i might add.

Developing a big draw like say ...moe. take along time and a lot of dollars.  We work it every say, and shows like this put the band in a better light, and in front of more potential new fans than ANYthing else that can be done.

When you make a snide statement that implies we should not only find an promote shows...but club folks and drag them there, you really embarass the generally intelligent tone of this forum.  You know better than that.

Steffmo - I really appreaciate what management is doing and what everyone is doing. I was busting balls without purpose.

I have to say the bands gigs look 100% better than last year. And opening for these other "larger" acts is a great idea.

I have no gruff and well, I love you, man!

carry on.

Spacey..

All is cool.  Y\'all just need to know that on the exec side we get at least as frustrated with this shit as you.  After a night like the Coda thing alex has to spend a certain amount of political time calming down the promoter,,,,who actually did quite a bit of promo....we simply didn\'t win the war that night.  Nonetheless...when promoters give the band a good guarantee, it MAKES them do the promotion.  When its a straight door deal, like so many in the past....they don\'t care because they still make the bar, and don\'t have to fork that over to the band to cover the nut.

Anyway....we want this to succeed even more than you guys do.  Some of us have a major part of our career future riding on it.  Thi ngs might not always turn out the way we want, but it won\'t be because we are slacking.
