Boy Does Homework, Smokes Pot With Mom

HANOVER, Pa. - A 13-year-old boy told police his mother required him to do his homework first thing when he got off the school bus, then smoked marijuana with him as a reward.

The mother said she had been smoking marijuana with her son since he was 11, usually as a reward, according to court documents.

The police interview came after officers executed a search warrant at the woman\'s home last weekend and seized marijuana, an array of drug paraphernalia and $600 in cash that she said belonged to a drug dealer, court documents said.

Amanda Lynn Livelsberger, 30, faces charges of marijuana possession, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children and possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia, police said.

don\'t you have a responsibility as a teacher to say something?

(not saying you should, but isn\'t there some liability put on you since you know?)

that is just wrong, however i don\'t think it\'s such a big deal if you smoke pot with your parents at some time in your life/when you are older. for the mother to make it acceptable to a kid at that young of an age is not a good thing. my parents scared the shit out of me when i got caught with some friends being pretty stupid and obvious about it back in the day...then they got a lot cooler and honest about themselves and what it was like growing up in the 70s as i got older...

I got caught the other day by my father. He saw my steam roller and says;

"Jeff, am I suppose to see this?"

"Nooo!"

Legally, the only thing i can do is send a child to the nurse if I suspect anything. We would then need parent permission for a drug test. This happened earlier in the year & his mom is the one who told us... since that point, he\'s been arrested for marijuana & is now on house arrest & probation. His mom transferred him into an "alternative program" so i don\'t see him anymore. :sigh:

When your 13 yrs old aren\'t you old enough to know it isn\'t a good thing to narc out your parents ?

OK should she have been using it as a reward to do his homework ? Of course not but narc\'ing out your parents is only gonna get you in a world of trouble not to mention totally screrwing up your parents lives.

This is like the story cops tell kids when they go to elementary schools with that stupid plastic case full of drugs and tell kids that this is what drugs look like. And then they tell you that feel good story about some young kid turning in their older sibling "to help them" and then they wait for the kids to tell them stuff. Its all propaganda.

Parents who puff down with their kids are no different than parents who drink with their kids. It just is becasue 1 of them is OK in the public eye and the other is not. I have had drinks with my mom, i would puff down with her if i thought she would want to but she has the mentality that most people do that all drugs are bad and stupid. She isn\'t much of a drinker either.

I wonder how his grades were doing
