i\'ve been seeing him multiple times a year since 99, both with the jackmormons and stockholm syndrome (watch for more dates from them later this year) as well as solo (just saw him a couple weeks ago in a buddy\'s backyard for the fourth time). i\'m a *huge* fan of his and i highly recommend checking him out whenever possible. brad (drummer for the jackmormons) has been having back problems, but is apparently just about ready to go back out on the road, which would make me really happy, since that\'s my favorite format for him, and i haven\'t seen them in almost three years.
his songs scream of agony and loneliness while at the same time ringing out the beauty of salvation and redemption. a furiously honest man who\'s lyrics convey that brutal honesty.
but if you wanna hear something really cool, find his recent show from mexicali blues with steve kimock. they were both in little women together in the late 80\'s, but haven\'t played together since. jerry plays his songs and steve just plays along. its *really* good (though akwardly mixed at times). good enough, that they\'ve been talking about doing more shows with just the two of them.
