I have to go off here.  Driving home from the Phish movie last night, in a great mood, then Sirius slaps me with "Hot \'Lanta" off Bona Fide for the 50th time.  For 16 months they have been playing this song.  I almost chucked the Sirius off the side of the highway.

First of all, this song is a freaking cover.  Every other band on Jam_On, even the crappy bands that only ever get one song played, get an original.  This is the single worst song you could use to represent The Breakfast on any of their recorded material.  People from coast to coast now think that Psychedelic Breakfast is some sort of southern-rock Panic/Allman wannabes.  They might even think they\'re a cover band.

Second, this song features a sit-in.  20% of what you hear isn\'t coming from a band member.  I can\'t tell Timmy from Seth Yacavone some of the time, and I know what they sound like.  Most people do not listen to Tim or Seth Yacavone ever.  So again, they have no idea what The Breakfast is about from listening to this tune.

Third, the Sirius screen displays "Psychedelic Breakfast" whenever the song comes on.  OMG the goddam name change was 2.5 years ago already.

Fourth, they used to play Rufus, but I haven\'t heard it in a year since Stef Scamardo cut it off mid-jam one time; the only time I have ever heard a band cut off mid-jam on the channel.

How the hell did Hot \'Lanta become "the song"?  You mean to tell me there\'s not one track on Real Radio that\'s better than this?  After a year and a half, Sirius can\'t play something original that features actual members of the band and they can\'t figure out the band\'s proper name?  Who the hell is responsible for communicating to these people?  They don\'t respond to my messages, that\'s for sure.

*  *  *
P.S.  If the preceding information disturbs you, call 1-877-33-SIRIUS, then dial 17 for Jam_On and leave a message.  Request a song off of Real Radio or just read the above post out loud.  A year and a half of misrepresentation stops now!  Yeah!

I know.  That doesn\'t make it right though.  It actually makes it worse.  So all they can do is just robotically program the name on the cd cover onto the screen.  You\'d think ONE person over there would know that a band they are playing on their station changed their name.  They are 2.5 years behind the times and the ONLY place still calling the band Psychedelic Breakfast.

Thanks dude, good work!  Remember, this goes way beyond helping a few people who have Sirius hear new tunes.  This important for the band\'s success.  They\'re being portrayed as a southern-rock cover band to thousands of people because of Sirius.  And all that with a name they ditched 2.5 years ago.  It can\'t get any worse than this.  We need to put an end to this madness.  God, I wish they had never played that damn song now.

Hi all.  Thought I\'d make my first post here in this thread.  I can see why the name situation is frustrating, but compare it to The Grateful Dead.  A few years back they changed the name to The Dead.  Should everything they have released prior to that point in time also be referred to as The Dead?

Someone mentioned why can\'t we send in some shows and they play songs from that.  As cool as Sirius is, it is afterall just a radio station.  And just like any other radio station, they will only play official releases due to copyright laws and such.

And I agree, Steff plays way too much Mule/Warren and Panic.  I don\'t listen to Jam_ON during her shift, I usually tune over to Howie.  :)

you can\'t really be comparing the breakfast to the dead,

wether you call them the Grateful dead or just the dead everyone knows who your talking about.

Where as I dont\' think most people can differentiate between The Breakfast and Psychedelic Breakfast

It\'s one thing for a band who\'s potential has already been realized, but these guys are still climbing that hill

Yes.....Tim announced it during the shows at The Broken Axe last Saturday as well as at the 10K Lakes fest on Wednesday, so I figured it would be fine to post on this site...

I love it.  This is by far the best album and crop of tunes to date from The Breakfast.....

Stay Tuned as I am sure official art and track listing will be available as soon as possible....
