Me!, I think some people just want to make a scene out of themselves and get on TV or have their golden moment to talk trash live to a pro athlete.  Look at that kid.  He\'ll never see third row seats again in his life.  He just wants some attention for himself.

The reality is that no sensible Sox fan (which is actually most of them, believe it or not) cares that much.  Not even the guy in the picture.  The Sox are in first, the Yankees have their worst team in 12 years, and we have an adequate replacement for Damon soon to be off the DL.  Life goes on. "Damon reaction time" was one at-bat a couple of weeks ago when he first came up at Fenway.  Now it\'s just the-rest-of-the-next-four-years-he-has-as-a-Yankee.  It\'s time for everyone to get over it if they haven\'t already.

I\'ve said it once and I\'ll say it again: This Is The Year.  (For the Mets.)  No doubt about it.

Red Sox place lefthander Lenny DiNardo on disabled list; recall righthander Jermaine Van Buren from Triple-A Pawtucket

BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox today announced that lefthanded pitcher Lenny DiNardo has been placed on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to May 22) with a neck strain. To replace DiNardo on the roster, righthanded pitcher Jermaine Van Buren has been recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket of the International League. Executive Vice President/General Manager Theo Epstein made the announcement.
Van Buren, 25 will wear #46 and be in uniform for tonight\'s game with New York.

DiNardo is 1-2 with a 7.11 earned run average in seven games/five starts with Boston in 2006. The lefthander lost in Philadelphia, 10-5 in his last appearance and start on Sunday.

Van Buren is 1-0 with a 1.17 earned run average (2 ER/15.1 IP) and a team high six saves in 11 appearances at Pawtucket this season. He has issued runs in just one appearance all season while holding opponents to a .192 batting average. In his last three outings the righthander has worked four scoreless innings with a win and two saves.

This is Van Buren\'s second stint with the Red Sox in 2006. He was with Boston from April 14-22, issuing two hits and a run in three innings in his lone appearance on April 22 at Toronto.

Acquired in a trade with the Chicago Cubs on December 1, 2005, Van Buren had a 0-2 record and 3.00 ERA in six outings with the Cubs in 2005 in his only previous major league action. He was originally selected by Colorado in the second round of the 1996 MLB First Year Player Draft before signing as a minor league free agent with the Cubs in January 2004.

Thank GOD!  Keep DiNardo as far from a major league mound as possible, awful

Steroids or not this number is impressive for Barry Bonds.
Too bad it will never be considered legitimate by many.
Hopefully he does the right thing and leaves the MLB record for homeruns with Hammerin\' Hank for now.(Pujols someday)
Worrying is like praying for something you don't want.

Yanks, Red Sox dominating AL votes

Bombers third baseman Alex Rodriguez has the early runaway lead on the ballot, with a 300,000-vote lead over Boston counterpart Mike Lowell. With 524,153 votes, A-Rod\'s real battle appears to be with Jeter for overall vote leadership.

David Ortiz, who would have to take a glove to Pittsburgh since the designated hitter will not be in use in the National League ballpark, leads at first base, his 451,431 votes providing an edge of 120,000 over Jason Giambi -- oddly, another frequent DH.

Showing the power of the pinstripe, Robinson Cano, playing his first big-league season and excelling, has a slight lead over Boston second baseman Mark Loretta at second base. With 289,394 checkmarks, Cano is fewer than 32,000 votes ahead of the former Padres infielder, who is wrapping up a hot first May in the Nation.

Yankees and Red Sox also lead at the two other infield positions, although their main competition comes from other precincts.

At catcher, Boston\'s Jason Varitek and the Yankees\' Jorge Posada are separated by 114,000 votes -- and by Detroit\'s Ivan Rodriguez, whose 277,034 votes trail Varitek by 58,000. Posada is 36,000 further behind I-Rod, a perennial All-Star.

Among outfielders, former Fenway neighbors Manny Ramirez and Johnny Damon are 123,000 votes apart. However, Ramirez\'s early lead is tenuous, with the Angels\' Vladimir Guerrero trailing by fewer than 2,000 votes.

Ramirez leads with 516,658, and Damon checks in with 393,643.
