wow. wow. wow.
on the fence, igzy?
GO. i couldn\'t even tell you what it was that made me hop on ticketmaster last week to look for tickets, but i am really, REALLY glad i did. easily one of the 10 best concerts i\'ve seen in my life.
recording is a double-edged sword. on one hand, i\'m really glad i recorded last night, because it was so good, and it would be a shame to not be able to hear it again. but on the other hand it *pained* me to have to stand still through the entire show last night. like andy said, the energy level was just absolutely through the roof. sweatiest i\'ve ever left a concert was rage against the machine in \'99, but this would have surely topped it, had i been let loose.
if the meadows was half-full, i\'d be surprised. lawn tickets were spotted as low as $6 on the lot. beer sales were suspended because of an incident at the last meadows show, and people were PISSED.
we got there on the early side.. i was expecting *some* traffic, and hit none at all. ended up parking right across from andy.. hung out in the lot for a little bit, then decided to head in. went down during the opening band,
Peaches to check out our seats. they were GREAT (the seats) - 15th row, about 10\'-15\' left of center. Peaches, on the other hand, was *terrible*. having no idea what we just watched, we decided to take a breather during Bauhaus\' set, which andy said was horrible anyways.
NIN blew me away from the first note. everything about it - the music, the lights, the screens, the sound, the production, the energy - great, great, great! trent\'s pretty built, and he\'s a madman on stage. the sound was LOUD, but crystal CLEAR. you could hear everything perfectly. loved the setlist, even though there were definitely a handful of songs i didn\'t know. i also would have liked to hear more than 3 songs from [with_teeth], but it was still great. constant energy throughout.
my highlight was probably Dead Souls to the end of the show. awesome block of songs to close it out. Hand That Feeds was a juggernaut.
also happy to report that the all aspects of the recording were a success - no issues with security, no issues with gear, and i listened to a little bit of it when i got home and when i woke up this morning, and it sounds good (even though my ears were still ringing a bit). i\'ll have it up on TTD tonight.
trent was hinting that NIN might be done after this tour. GO SEE THEM.
