$365,000,000 Powerball Pool/Discussion
« on: February 16, 2006, 10:11:02 am »
What would YOU do if you won the jackpot? Let\'s say after taxes and whatnot it actually pays $170 million.

I can\'t even fathom the idea.

Also, is there any interest in a .info pool for tickets? I\'d be willing to set it up.

\'eh, screw, lets try it, maybe it\'ll be more successful than my super bowl pool

antbach\'s thebreakfast.info Powerball Pool for Saturday February 18, 2006 drawing.

Cost: $5.00 per person

Payment info: Cash or Paypal (request an invoice FIRST, and do not mention Powerball, Lottery, Gambling, etc.). If paying by PayPal add 50 cents to cover fees.

Purchase info: Seeing as I will be in two Powerball states over the next few days this is a good opportunity to get tickets at multiple locations.

All payments must be received by 5:00pm Saturday. I will purchase computer quick picks once today (9:00pm), twice tomorrow (once when I leave work in Rhode Island at 4:30ish, once around 8:30 or 9:00pm in Connecticut) and once on Saturday (5:00pm).

I will post all ticket numbers to all players in a mass Private Message after the last batch is purchased on Saturday (if I can find a scanner I will scan them in for confirmation of tickets, or I\'ll bring them to the Iron Horse).

If we win: If one of the tickets wins the jackpot, all players who payed for the pool will be required to meet in either Rhode Island or Connecticut (whichever state the ticket is from) on a select date and time to be determined so we can claim our prize as a group. The payout will be a LUMP SUM payment.

Other prizes: Note that tickets will not include the $1 extra for Power Play. Please visit http://ctlottery.org/powerball.htm#POWERBALL for payout table for non-jackpot winning tickets. Non jackpot prize amounts up to $100 will be donated to .info. Non jackpot prize amounts over $100 will be split evenly (after taxes, if applicable) between the players.

To play, contact me through .info PM, AIM - Ant8tnA, email - abachinski@snet.net, or phone (203) 214-5627.

For those going to the Iron Horse and want to play, I will front the money for you and you can pay me in person at the show (this also gives me a great reason to not miss the show:) )
Confirmed Players:
antbach, Todd, Robyn, Spacey, Derick W, Dave Bach, Mark, Dave Peck, Lisa Peck, obsession600, kindm\'s, BigMamaBlueberry, helluvahat, plainandsimple

EDIT: PayPal changed from 25 cents to 50 cents (just figured out the fee is 30 cents plus a percentage between 1.9 and 2.9%, thanks dave)

I would start my own band and record/tour until I reached the age of 50. At this point I would retire from the stage and become a school librarian.

ant - one thing about powerball pools - shouldn\'t the winning $$ distribution be relative to the about of $$ one puts in?

EDIT: nevermind, i see you\'re just doing $5 per person...

so if we win, we can all quit our jobs, buy the band a big rig, some new equipment and a tour bus and we can follow them.

who am I kidding, bands don\'t get hand outs like that, we\'d probably just get a flat tire and be stranded and broke somewhere.
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.

"You can\'t win if you don\'t play!"

Got $15 (3 people, myself included) so far. Lets make it happen, folks!

Other stuff I just thought up:

If you know anyone who is a .info member who may not see this in time and would be interested, please contact them to let them know so they have the opportunity and won\'t feel left out when we win ;)

Also, if someone is going to see/talk to the band ask them too and let me know.

Could you imagine the publicity we\'d get if we won? "Online Forum Members for Jamband The Breakfast\'s Fans Wins Record Jackpot"

Last, but not least, the post with the stuff about the pool will be updated with confirmed (as in I have them written down and are on my list) people. If you have tryed to contact me and do not see your name on the list as the deadline approaches, CALL ME! Make sure you leave a message with your name and number, I screen my calls ;)

to answer your question since you and lisa both paid $5, hypothetically if it came out to 10mil a person, you would both get 10mil, married or not, per person is per person. Now, if you wanted to toss in an extra five bucks for Tyson, that wouldn\'t be acceptable, or if someone gave me $10 for themself to win two parts of the split, it wouldn\'t be acceptable either. (Reasons why I listed you both seperate in the players list and not as Dave and Lisa Peck)
