dave, i was messing around with some new animated breakfast avatars. i went to try one out and it wont let me upload animated GIF files from my hard drive or from a link. it said "you may not upload animated images" when i tried setting it as a custom avatar.

Are you only allowing pre-defined animated avatars now or is this just the default setting after the forum upgrade?

in the new version of vBulletin, animated avatars are now an option to enable/disable on a per-usergroup basis. the default value is \'disabled\'.

i\'m still thinking about it, but currently, custom animated avatars are only enabled for supporting members. one of the things i\'ve been really thinking about is making a list of incentives for supporting members, and i think this would be a good thing for that list (larger avatars are also being considered for that list). however, this only applies to uploading custom avatars, not to using avatars that are available here..

Chris makes his donation to all of us in a most phenominal way.....next time i see dave, i pledge to make a donation in chris\' name to help pay him back, at least a little, for the expenses he routinely incurs bringing us the incredible recordings that he does. i would call on someone else to match me in mvallo\'s,kindm\'s,jasona\'s or any other tapers name that they feel that has hooked them up. the symmetry is that it would all help dave. please, dave if you will, enable chris to rock his avatar on my pledge and i\'ll find you soon.
