I bought Deuce @ my 1st show 7/1/03. Until I got boots a couple weeks ago, all I had were Bonafide and Deuce. I have come to this conclusion: that Deuce may be as good as any Phish studio album and one of the best " Jamband " albums in the last 10 years.
Songs, Production, Cool artwork it has it all. From the funkiness of TFA, the classic rock sound of See the Light and LDZ, the haziness of Phaddy, the pure bliss that is Question Mark, the romp and stomp of Beef Barley, the jam vehicle that is Buquebus, the spinner\'s delight of What the Funk, through the dreamy fog of Mooboo\'s, DEUCE has something for all !!!!
PB seems to have done in its second album what it took Phish IMHO 4-5 albums to do. That is make an album that flows well with songs that have concise structures along with "jammy" songs. PB probably gets compared all the time as "a little phish". Well congrats to them if you are gonna be lumped in with another band why not one of the best? Only being around a few years now, makes this band even more amazing to me. It is funny how people who don\'t believe me when I tell them how good PB is quickly change their tune once I play any song off of Deuce. Once I play them a little live PB you can see the lust begin to develop
Help get Deuce on a Billboard chart. Play it for all your friends, park your car in a public parking lot and play it loud until the cops tell you to stop, then turn it down and tell the cops where to buy a copy. Have a friend that works at a bar ? Tell them to put it in the jukebox. Whatever you can do will help.
