Soulicious you just need to bail L.A. If you want to stay in Cali. check out S.F or if you want to really play music come on down to S.D. Lots of places to play for smaller bands. Cool local music scene all kinds of music being explored.
Worrying is like praying for something you don't want.

Easy now, you don\'t have to wet your pants over it.........oh, and another thing....all yall LA people are way too sensitive and easily offended. I can\'t even bust balls out here without someone crying and threatening to sue.  The traffic sucks, the weather is terrible, it never stops snowing here, there are all these little trolls running around in the sewers singing God Bless the Queen, No one eats steak, I bought some Oranges last week and Mike Watt jumped out of one and slapped me with his bass and flew away on his golden wings, I called the LAPD about a break-in at my apartment and they showed up and whipped me with leather guitar straps, and they were all humming "Shiny Happy People" (some of them were singing that awesome tune, MMM, MMM, MMM, MMM) and Jesus made me a chef salad but didn\'t use enough lettuce so I was like, "yo Jesus, what up wit dat, boyee??" and Jesus was all like, "if you don\'t like the salad, my fair maiden, then just stick your finger down your throat, that\'s what Lindsay does" and then he was like "Who\'s the man with the master plan, a nigga with a muthaf***in\' gun" so I asked if he was friends with Dre and he was all, "yeah, but that Warren G is one hell of a blackjack dealer, I owe him 50 G\'s" so I was like..............oh shit, that was just the dream i had last night......
I think I\'m done with this thread......unless you want some more of that, sucka

Leith I\'ve heard mucho good things about S.F., San Diego and especially Portland, OR lately......I feel like it\'s at least worth checking out eventually, and if I had my pick of which city to come to initially I would\'ve prob. gone to San Francisco.....but alas, no money, more problems

Soulicious467 you are very confused. You Mind as well go back home since you don\'t seem to belong in this town.

I think that Souletc. might have the balls to survive. LA is definitely what you make of it. MAKE a scene and once word gets around people like yourself will find it and come to it. 80% of the people who show will be trend-followers that will clear out when the next hot thing comes along but those who remain can be very valuable.
Self-promotion is key in such a sprawling city. Good thing is that Hollywood is a magnet for musicians and freaks. Btw what do you play in the band?

sorry guys, but as a southerner who moved to New England, I can\'t possibly imagine how LA could be worse than Mass...

New England was most definitely NOT the place for me.

Hey Marcial, you seem very confused. You should just go home if you don\'t like this town..........oh, I mean, that\'s cool.....it ain\'t easy moving from the South to New England. One of my best friends lives in Charleston, SC and I\'ve never had a better time in my life than when I went down there to visit.....and how the hell do you Southerners manage to drink so much booze and not become  disgustingly obese? I\'m still trying to figure that one out.....

I did, guy!  Note my location.

Don\'t get me wrong, I had fun while I lived there & made some great friends... still come to visit at least once a year.

I couldn\'t take the weather, the grimey industrialized CT coast, the fact that everything was dirty, and OLD (some like to call this "character" or "quaintness", but I call it old... give me a new apartment with central heat & air, good water pressure and good insulation over a drafty, radiator ridden, no water pressure, 75 year old house that has been divided into 5 apartments anyday).  Also, for the most part, people from the Northeast are about as far removed from "southern hospitality" as is possible.

It all boils down to what you are used to... take a redneck from Alabama and put them in Northeastern city... no good.  Take a liberal Masshole & drop them somewhere in the bible belt... also no good.

THey are also far removed from the inbreeding, ignorance, lack of culture and low mental capacity commonly found among southerners!

(this thread is already a \'my geographic region is better than yours\' pissing contest, figured I mite as well join the fun ;))

Better watch out Klout, you may be "annoying" some southerners ;)

^true dat...moving from ny down to va was quite a change. there is a completely different mentality here that is nothing like the northeast at all. i personally can\'t wait to move back up..the south is weird on so many levels.

What do you think would happen to the south after the north destroyed it and never rebuilt following the Civil War? We obviously couldn\'t make it better then the north.
