You love beer? Make the jump, brew your own. It does not cost that much to get a starter kit and if you enjoy it you can upgrade as you need. Brewing is pretty easy and people who are at your local supply store are usually eager to help out a beginner. There are a lot of recipes around for blackberry wheat beers. Try a couple and modify as needed. You might even be able to find a clone of your favorite.
The Complete Joy Of Home Brewing by Charlie Papazian is an excellent resource.
I have the book and a brewing kit if you want to borrow. Brewing is fun, fun, fun! Just something I don\'t seem to have much time for these days.

Hmmm.... all this talk of home brewing makes me thirsty. I know a few people that have made their own beer... I\'m not quite sure why I\'ve never tried it. It seems simple enough. I guess I should probably start soon, since my dream someday is to open a brewhouse. I\'m not studying Microbiology for nothing, right? I\'ve got it all planned out...
Enter my head (at your own risk):
This brewhouse is gonna be saaaweeet. It\'s gonna be the most chill bar you\'ve ever been to. Couches, fireplaces, cozy corners... for whatever. It\'s gonna have a side room with a stage so awesome bands can come play (i.e. the Breakfast) or just open mic nights for the weekdays. There will be a few appetizers on the menu, but the main focus will be on the beer. All different types, to suite anyone and everyone\'s desire. The only problem is making some money to build these dreams and also to figure out where to build this most bodacious place.

Go for it!  Back when I was brewing, my dream was to do just this. I was seriously considering enrolling in the Siebel Institute in Chicago. It seemed in the early 90\'s cool microbreweries were opening everywhere. Now many have closed which is very sad.  Like I said, you can borrow my stuff if you want to give it a try!

Another post in regard to Beer: Newport Storm is making some unique batches, named like hurricanes- the latest is called BRENT.  It has 8% alcohol, and it\'s  pretty good, if you don\'t mind a sweet, malty taste... just a recommendation to try something different for those out there who get indecisive at the package store.

Ya, plenty of lessons learned that night. I think Steve learned how far he could tip a cup before beer spilt on TPalms.

update to the beer situation:

after reading this thread, a friend of moebass\'s went out and found the last 6 pack of Blackberry Wheat at a local package store.... so her inventory went from 1, to 0, to 6.

so i guess we can thank you, kind stranger (bezerker) for drinking her last beer, for now she can enjoy that blackberry goodness 6 times this winter... ;)
