From what I understand, Blind Melon hit a crossroad about the same time as Hoon began to meet his demise. They wanted to get away from the nostalgia of pop music but weren\'t sure if they want to head down the path of hard style rock or go in the area of "jambands". Towards the end of his life, Hoon was really beat down and confused. Soberity killed him inside, he couldn\'t handle it. Although he died of a cocaine overdose, he was "together" (in the bands view) when he was on drugs. In a sense, I guess he was very Morrison like. I still listen to BM on occassion but have hardly ever met anyone who enjoys them for what they were and no the "No Rain" act.
