Sidney Crosby update.
I went to the Bruins/Penguins game this past Saturday and saw the NHL\'s "savior." I was impressed, but I was also unimpressed.
First, the kid does some shit with the puck that I haven\'t seen since EHHS\'s #14 in 1997. He has awesome hands and a great knack for finding an open man with tape to tape passes, which is one of the reasons I was unimpressed; he tends to look for an open teammate instead of taking the puck in, beating the defenseman, and shooting, or I saw 2 or 3 times where the defenseman would have made an great screen on the goalie, but he still passed instead of shot (he did have 2 assists on Pitts 3 goals, one which was set up by some ser moved by him). Seeing as he is only 18 I can say he\'s going to be phenemonal in like 2-3 years. But also seeing has he is only 18, he plays like an 18 year old; he made some stupid mistakes that don\'t fly in D1 college hockey, nevermind the NHL. But, hey, he is only 18. He has the skill, he has the hands, he has a good enough shot, what he doesn\'t have is the knowledge of the NHL game, which he will learn soon enough (he didn\'t seem to know what to do or where to be when he didn\'t have the puck).
Another problem I saw was he was not playing on a line with Super Mario which I think could make this kid better quicker. He skated one powerplay (maybe it was a 4on4, dont remember) with Lemieux and the two of them set up at least 3 or 4 scoring chances in that one shift, but that was it, one shift.
