I was sitting in a college class, though I had no idea what had occured till midday ( I had a tendency of going back to sleep after my 8 am class, in part due to midweek Breakfast shows - though I never missed a class no matter how late I stayed up).  When I woke up from the nap, I heard about all the events and spent the rest of the day wondering if any other horror was planned.

The strangest part of that morning was a lesson my teacher was giving about how he made the elevators more efficient in a high-rise building while on a consulting gig.  I remember thinking about how dangerous a tower could be in the event of a fire or monstrous earthquake, just a few minutes prior to the events.

A girl from my high school died due to being stuck on a floor above the impact zone.  Seems like everyone knows someone that was affected.

I have also heard a lot of remarkable stories about people calling in sick or coming into work late on the day of the attacks.

Junior year (high school) English class.  Teacher had no idea what to do, so we went right on with Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.  All that I remember is being glued to the TV.  I was one of the lucky ones, I guess.  I know plenty of people who work and live in the city, but I didn\'t lose anybody close.

It still breaks my heart to hear about people losing loved ones so needlessly.

I was at work when the radio cut off midsong to announce it after a few customers asked if we heard about it (I thought the 1st one or two were joking). I drove home quickly to grab a tv so the guy and I that were working could watch and made it back in time to watch the 2nd plane hit live. We then watched the coverage the rest of the day while customers would just stare at the screen with us. By the end of the day it was rumored that some victims would be coming to Yale Hospital which freaked me out for two days. I was scheduled to undergo significant surgery and was worried the hospital was gonna get attacked. Tomorrow is my 4 year anniversary of never having belly-button lint again. I spent a little over two weeks in the hospital in bed with nothing to watch but 9/11 coverage and it was a depressing two weeks.

don\'t blame ya.  that day is a black mark on my soul and I was thousands of miles away.  can\'t imagine being up close and personal to that kind of misery and destruction.

I was getting ready for my uncle\'s memorial service in Branford...we had the service and then all went to Tommy Sullivans, which he used to go to and watched the story unfold on TV...two days later I found out My Dad(r.i.p.) had cancer.  I can honestly say that that was the worst week of my life.

I was working at a bank here in Cheshire. We carried the TV out to the front, so we could see what the hell was going on, why this was happening. After the 2nd tower got hit, we got word that our bank branch in Meriden had just been robbed. The president told us to close all our offices and go home.

George W. was reading books to some children in school. When he was told that the first tower had been hit, he kept on reading to the kids.

^^^ Shenanigans...George Bush cannot read, he had to keep mouthing the words which were getting piped in throught the vents over his head.  Had he stopped it would\'ve been like Milli Vanilli and Ashley Simpson.
