Get ready for a college football bowl game in New York City -- in a baseball stadium. The creation of the new Yankee Bowl will be announced at a press conference Wednesday morning at Yankee Stadium. The new game is expected to pit the No. 4 team from the Big East against the No. 7 team from the Big 12 beginning in 2010.Notre Dame could also be involved in the game. If the Big 12 does not have enough eligible teams to fill its slot, the Irish could face the Big East in the Yankee Bowl.Organizers are targeting Dec. 29, 2010, as the date for the first game. The NCAA will have to certify the bowl, but that is expected to be a formality. There are already 34 postseason games in college football. The first-ever football game in the new stadium will come next year in a regular-season contest between Army and Notre Dame. Army has a deal to play four games at the ballpark in the next five years, including one against Rutgers.
