What does Tim mean when he says, "I can do NOTHING to make this happen."?

Does this refer to the US being controlled by facists? No War? Knowing Eddie Van Halen? or being a professional guitarist?

Is this even a serious statement or is it written with a sarcastic tone meant jokingly?

It has made me chuckle all day when I think of Tim saying this, of course, I only make this with the Tim I know, not the Tim of high school. I don\'t know but I had to get that out in the open.

it sounds like he was just answering someones questions, but we dont know exactly what those questions were.

From the looks of some of the sentences with a similar tone in other\'s letters, ,I bet it was something like

"What can you do to make the world a better place?"

or

"What can you do to make these things happen?"
